I apologize if this has been posted already, but I thought I'd pass it along. I was checking out upcoming releases on Amazon.com and came across "Malfunkshun: The Andrew Wood Story" CD! Amazon doesn't have any additional info and the Malfunkshun site isn't up yet. But the album is to be released July 19th 2011, 3 discs for $35.30! I'm excited! :D

July 19, 2011 is the official RELEASE DATE for my film "Malfunkshun - The Andrew Wood Story". 10 years in the making and 6 years in the waiting.

It will be released on DVD in a Boxed Set along with "Melodies & Dreams" the Andrew Wood solo album, and Malfunkshun's "Return to Olympus".

A sincere THANK YOU to the family, friends and fans... of Andy, who helped make this dream come true.

    Long Live L'Andrew !

I pre-ordered this a while back... waiting patiently for it. I wish there were some more details up about it though.

Is it good? I've never heard Andy before (besides crown of thorns).

  • What a great movie. Sad, too. It's weird Cornell displays almost no emotion in this, but is in tears in the PJ20 movie, while the subject is the same. I have Loosegroove's 1995 CD of the Mfunk album, and the wammybox.com pre-mastered version, but it's worth having again. Mfunk was never really my cup of chai, but the MLB album has been a favourite since I bought it just after I got Ten in late 1992. What a record. Finally piecing together the mythical Andy solo album, from what is probably a lot more material than this, was a job well done, too.
    My Pearl Jam shows: 1 in 1995, 2 in 1998, 20 in 2003, 13 in 2006, 3 in 2007, 8 in 2008, 5 in 2009, 4 in 2010, 5 in 2012. EV: 8 in 2011, 1 in 2012. Brad: 1 in 1998, 1 in 2002.

I am friends with Dave Rees, original bass player for malfunkshun. I bring it up, whenever I can. He has passed on many stories of Andrew Wood.
