ENCORE 3: Dream A Little Dream Of Me

NOTES:
ED Says: "When life is good & you're in the fast lane, you don't notice the little things...
Then God's big fists hit you and knock you down to the mat. It's when you're on the mat that you notice the little things... That's how he discovered the Ukulele.. It's a little thing!!!

Ed Says, in an impression of Bruce's voice...
"It takes a lot of balls to put out an all ukulele album...when Ed saw the album hit #4 on the charts..he said "The UKE'S got the BALLS."

Ed says...Mike McCready plays so loud that he wears earplugs. He can do whatever the fuck he wants to do!!
And Jeff Ament plays loud so Ed has to keep up...So Ed plays loud and HE ends up being the asshole
So now Ed's deaf, and his kids know...So they get right up in his face and say DAAAD!! So when people in the audience yell out song requests, JUST KNOW that he can't hear a FUCKING THING!!!!

Ed says...with all the athletes testing positive for cannabis, it almost makes him wanna start watching college sports now!!

Ed story about writing "Unthought Known"...
He was wasted, didn't want to waste the buzz, Grabbed another beer and wrote.
Later found the writing and thought it looked familiar...then he found a tape recording and realized that he had also recorded it!!

Ed plays...SLEEPLESS NIGHTS w/ Glen, BUT teases the audience with an ULTRAFAST version, and says...
I'm SAVING IT FOR PHILLY!!! The TEASER gets BOOOS from the audience..
Ed says he forgot his rule of waiting to insult the town you're IN, until after you've finished playing!!!

http://www.examiner.ie/ireland/man-dies%20...%2028533.html
(Thanks to Van Cougar for the link!!)
Eddie called him to check up on him & see how he was dealing with this, Ed told him about what he and the band had gone thru after Roskilde. While he was there, they ended up recording "Sleepless NIghts" together. He commented on how strange the world works, that something so beautiful could come out of something so tragic!!!
