First off, I don't want to piss anyone off by posting this in the wrong category (people are so sensitive about this issue) but I rarely post on here so I'm not quite sure if this is the right place ;) Anyways, I just read a tweet from @DirtyFrankDahmer on twitter that a concert permit application was pulled for Fenway Sept 8-10. There is speculation it may be for PJ. Considering these dates are right in between the Montreal and Toronto gigs with what would mean no day off in between, is this highly unlikely or what?? Any thoughts?? P.S. Why HASN'T PJ played Fenway at this point? I find that rather strange....

Why would they go to Boston in between Canadian shows?

    To further infuriate the south.
To further infuriate anyone not in New England.
Because that's when Fenway wants to host a show.
Because it's only 6 hours away.
    Because they love Boston.
Because you don't think it will happen.
Because I don't think it will happen.

Well maybe its just wishful thinking but its really not THAT out of the way. Boston is only 6 hours from Montreal and 9ish from Toronto. This is a historic year for PJ and Fenway is a historic venue. Who else (that we know is touring) would draw enough fans to play 3 nights there?

Well, being a fanclub member and devoted follower for ALONG time, (18 years...HOLY SH*%, just realized that) and from Boston I have heard the rumors so many times I feel like a spinning black circle....all pun intended. Anyway I wouldn't hold your breath, I'm not, and I do have to say I don't think they would play 3 nights in a row, as we all know now they don't extend themselves like that anymore. But this is the best scenario I have seen yet that would set them up to play Fenway and I bet on 2 nights at least. From what I have learned they have yet to play here because PJ likes their security to be in control of how security is handled and that hasn't been able to be worked out in the past but maybe now they have. Heres hoping and crossing my fingers!! I do have a connection through a friend at Fenway security who I am trying to see if they have any insight and will post any info I can get. I haven't been on this board in a LONG time but for this type of event and having some knowledge I figured I'd say HI and share what I have and maybe also spread some luck!

    Heres hoping for Fenway!!

That would be incredible! But didn't they say definitively that the tour dates out now are the only tour dates for the year?

edit: Now that I think about it, Paul McCartney would make more sense (imo) as he has been and is doing multi-night baseball stadium runs

    I couldn't care less.

This is why I haven't posted here in a LONG time...why the negativity man? If you don't care then don't care to post a comment here. Lots of other places you can be negative but no need too here. This post is obviously for those who do care about them playing Fenway.

And for the love of all good, don't start a stupid argument, just move on to another post or site, we could care less for your comments if thats how your going to be.

As for Paul McCartney, I can see that too and I definitely see PJ not playing here. But you never know, their entitled to change their minds and add shows I guess.

I'm fine with my post. If they play at Fenway and it makes the people who got shut out of PJ20 happy awesome. I just don't really have any interest.

Ok, that's cool. And good for you to clarify, it did seem a bit unnecessary and negative. But now that you've made yourself clearer, all good.

Well as I said, I'd let anyone who cares ;) if I heard anything from my fenway connection, I'd let you know...so heard back little while ago and doesn't seem to be any different than every year, as of now just rumors is what he said and he also mentioned there's been no communication from the PJ security or management as of today. So not looking to promising, especially with that link from the herald(thanks ma 1863) But you never know...
He said he will see if he can get more info tomorrow and let me know.

If you were to post on here more often, you would know that unnecessary and negative is his stock in trade.

Makes no sense this year... people from all over are going to Wisconsin and the band can't expect the same people to go to Boston a few days later. Fact is Pearl Jam needs people from outside New England to help sell out Fenway. Last years Boston show, 1 night only in an arena did not sell out. They need more time (2012) and proper marketing time to sell it out.

PJ20 at Fenway would be epic. I love how there are many PJ fans on here that have only posted once or twice but have been members since the 90s. So many fans and lots just simply don't post, which is cool.

Paul McCsrtney....if the permit is 3 nights don't see it happening, 5 nights in row...3 in Boston and 2 in Toronto, plus I assume they will be at tiff for the premier of their movie.
