51 year old actor marries 16 year old

"Green Mile" and "Lost" actor Doug Hutchison, 51, revealed on Monday that he wed aspiring country singer Courtney Alexis Stodden, 16, in May.

"We're aware that our vast age difference is extremely controversial," the couple told E! News in a statement released by their spokesperson. "But we're very much in love and want to get the message out there that true love can be ageless."

Stodden's mother gave parental consent so the two could wed in Las Vegas.

"We are totally supportive of this marriage," Krista Stodden told RadarOnline.com. "Doug is a wonderful man and we love him."

She added, ""Courtney was a virgin when she married Doug. She is a good Christian girl."

    I had the chance to get to know Doug back in the mid-90's. He was a friend of a friend, and while I am raising my eyebrow at this one, I wish him and his new bride the best of luck. He was always a nice guy when I had the opportunity to hang out with him.

    I had to look him up, recognized him from the X-Files. Also indicated you have to be 18 to apply for a wedding license in Nevada so maybe she isn't 16?

    I dunno....Looks like it worked. We're talkin about it on a PJ message board. Everybody that's replied to this thread has probably googled her or posted about it on their facebook or twitter.

    I'd guess she was 30+ before 16.
