How to sell 10C tickets?

Is the only way to sell 10C tix is that the member under whose account the tickets were purchased must pick them up and then sell them for face value or less the night of the show?

Reason I ask is that I purchased 10C tix to Ed's solo St. Louis show. I tried for chicago or detroit, which are both much closer to home, but wasn't able to score those tix. St. Louis is 7 hours away, no big deal at the time, as I was pretty excited to go. Now several months later it is a different story. I just got back from an exhausting week in orlando for work, and I am flat broke and cannot afford the gas needed to drive to the show.

I would love to sell those tickets to another fan for face value or less but I cannot pick them up myself as getting there is the real issue. I can't bear the thought of those seats remaining empty.

Do I have any options?

thanks

Emily

    7) The registered Ten Club member whose account was used to place the order must be present to collect the tickets at the box office on the day of the show.

    8) All Ten Club members must show photo identification to collect purchased tickets.

    9) More information about box office location, door times and event festivities will follow closer to the date of the show.

    10) For more information about PJ20 Destination Weekend, please visit http://www.PJ20.com

    11) All ticket sales are final. No refunds, transfers, or exchanges. No exceptions.
straight out of the ticket sale guidelines. however, i don't think it will hurt to at least try and email info@tenclub.net or tickets@tenclub.net to see if anything can be done

Email or call and explain your situation, not sure if you can get your money back or transfer them, and if that's impossible maybe ask if you can donate them to a charity to at least get the tax write off, but I really hope you get your money back.

Since you've already paid for the tickets what about getting a friend to drive or cover gas in exchange for the free ticket? Or create a thread looking for carpool buddies. I don't know where you're coming from but it seems like there are people throughout the Midwest making the drive to St Louis.

Sell some PJ goods/merch on the board? Sell anything else on Craigslist or eBay? Look under the couch cushions for loose change or gold coins? Find some little side job or work that can help cover your costs? Just hate to see those paid in full tickets go to waste. Good luck!

Wait a minute. You go to FL for work (to make money I assume) and come back broke? Usually when one does a little extra they have more money. Hmmm.... Seems to me you might also need a new job. Just saying.

I'm salaried. I can do all the extra I desire and it's basically working for free. But I love my job. I was there for an AV convention, training, and team building (i.e. partying). Even though most of it was on the company's dime I still had my own expenses (snacks, souvenirs for the family, airport food for the 15 hours I was stuck in airports due to storm delays, etc).

However, it's not really so much about the money as it is the time. A 14 hour round trip drive sounds revolting to me now. I bought the tickets before I knew they were sending me to florida less than 2 weeks before the show. A weekend in st. louis sounded like a wonderful summer vacation for my boyfriend and me. He backed out of the trip earlier this week.

In fact what I might do is let the st. louis tickets go and pick up a single chicago ticket for $100 or so. Chicago is only 1 hour away and I'd be paying the same for that ticket as I would gas but without the drive.

Not sure what I'm going to do just wondered if I had any options for those tickets.

    thanks

This is why I RARELY buy tickets through the 10 Club, when I wanted to go to Seattle in 2009 I just bought non 10 Club tickets, it's just insane to me that once you buy them, that's it and months out at that. I was just thinking the other day, what if you bought 10 Club tix and you died or were in a horrible accident or something bad happened to your family member or friend. At the VERY least you should be able to transfer them to another member, it seems like a VERY archaic rule to me and PLEASE everyone spare me the whole "we're just lucky they let us buy tickets" speech, I'm WAY passed drinking that kool aid!

You're better off buying tickets somewhere else and then if you can't go you can try and sell them, even if you had to sell them for a small loss, it's better than just eating the tickets! Not to mention the fact that there are 253 tickets for this show on Stubhub, starting @ about $55.00 and there are TONS of tickets for both nights of Chicago also for under $100.00.

i don't really like how the 10club makes you buy 2 tickets, too...i've gotten tickets through the fanclub 4 times and 3 out of the 4 times i've been the only one to use a ticket..so i end up eating up the other ticket without really having any other way to sell the ticket without getting caught...

it's probably more worth it to just buy one ticket through ticketbastard...

I haven't been a member long so it was my first experience buying through 10c. I won't be doing it again unless it's for a pj concert within 2 hours of home. And only then I will be doing it so I can actually get off the lawn and SEE the band.

For the most part I knew the rules about the 10C tickets before I bought them. What is a sure thing in March might not seem that way in July. (I did think I could arrange to have another member get them up so long as I arranged it through 10C and they knew I didn't get more than face value for them...but I guess that would count as "selling and transfering").

If I knew the seats were great then I'd drive to St. Louis. But I would feel sick if I drove all that way and was stuck in the balconey, when I could have bought a balconey or better seat for a chicago show. I didn't realize there would be so many reasonable, decent seats available for these shows after the 10C sale.

So the rookie learns a $162 lesson.

The other thing I don't like is that you HAVE to buy 2 tickets, so you're out $162.00 now since your boyfriend bailed out, oh well lesson learned, unless your are trying for tickets for PJ20 or an east coast show (MSG, Boston, Hartford) there will be tickets around. Maybe you can just drive to St.Louis, who know you may have GREAT seats!

I think you can do a ticket transfer to another 10c member and let the 10c know that the tickets need to go to someone else. The 10c will then put the tickets in someone else's name so they can pick them up. The transfer will be for face value of the tickets not a penny more. I did this in 2006 and it all worked out. contact the 10c and make sure they will let you do this. good luck rookie!
