20008 Bootleg Decision Help

I need some advice...i am going to buy 1 physical bootleg from PJ.

I already bought the following shows via download:

-Tampa
-DC
-Bonaroo
-Columbia

Which show of the 08 tour is the best one to buy on cd? Any 3 disc long shows? Please include boot sound quality because I recall hearing a couple shows had some "off" sound. Set lists doens't matter too much because I love all their songs.

granted, any show is great anyways but was hoping to get some feedback from people I trust the most, my Pearl Jam Peers.

Thanks in adavcne for all feedback.

MSG 2 is three discs..and is a great show!

My other top 2008 boots based upon performance and sound quality are:

    mansfield 6/30 (a must)

Columbia (sleeper show of the whole tour IMO)

mansfield 6/28 (best Hard to imagine, best Love reign)

I still need to get both of the Manfields when I can get some extra $$$$$, but I do really like MSG2, Columbia, Roo, Hartford, and DC a lot!!!!

I see Hartford and Columbia pretty close to being the best two shows of the tour, but I wonder which one is better? They are both unique in their own right, but who went to both? I'm of course partial to the Columbia show because I went to that show, but I have a friend that went to the Hartford show and she loved it.

I heard that the Columbia crowd was better- just what I've heard.

Ya, Hartford was cool, i kind of drank and partied more for the Hartford show... thinkin that i just saw the 2 MSG shows which rocked and i was goin to the 2 boston.. but the SETLIST for Hartford was amazing... the band was down to business that night... CROWD wise it was strong... not MSG strong, but Strong... it was real warm in there that night tooo which sucked in a way but added to the atmosphere... Wasnt at Columbia, so cant answer that question

The 2 shows of the tour that are most alike...

Honestly, my enjoyment of Camden 1 wasn't where it should have been because of how similar it was to the last show i was at (Bonnaroo)

    Bonnaroo:

Set 1 Hard To Imagine, Corduroy, All Night, Why Go, Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town, Down, Who You Are, Severed Hand, 1/2 Full, Animal, Even Flow, Daughter, Gone, Love Reign O'er Me, Do The Evolution, Rearviewmirror

Encore 1 W.M.A., Better Man, Black, Life Wasted, Crazy Mary, Porch

Encore 2 No More, Release, Alive

Encore 3 All Along The Watchtower

    Camden 1:

Set 1 Hard To Imagine, Corduroy, Severed Hand, Do The Evolution, All Night, In Hiding, Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town, Gone, Who You Are, Unemployable, Even Flow, Light Years, Grievance, Given To Fly, U, Rats, Why Go

Encore 1 Love Reign O'er Me, Better Man, State Of Love And Trust, Black, Leash

Encore 2 No More, Crazy Mary, Porch, Yellow Ledbetter
    2004 - 10/1, 10/11

Bonnaroo was epic. Easily my top 3 favorite boots. It has the best version of corduroy I've ever heard, as well as amazing versions of basically every other song.

I have only heard 'roo and Hartford, but I reallly want to hear both MSG's as well as Columbia simply because of all the talk about that show.

edit: Is it just me, or do these setlists from this past tour look even better now then when we first saw them? I guess it takes time to appreciate it. I never thought camden 1 had such a good setlist until now

I'd probably say their show on the Planet Krypton, with the Mars and Pluto shows a close second.

Ed will probably save Pluto for his solo tour, as he likes the intimacy of smaller venues.

To be honest, I haven't listened to either boot for a couple of months . I was underwhelmed when I first heard them.

When I got them, my six month old puppy was maybe 3-4 months old and was a holy terror  http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll56/ddgrh8r/IMG_1772.jpg

At the time, my existence at home consisted of "watching the dog" and little else. As a consequence, I really only listened to the boots, in snippets, while driving. That's never good - I need to listen to them, loud, in their entirety, with beer(s) in hand. :D

That being said, Love Reign and All Along the Watchtower did not impress me :(. I need to listen to them "properly," I guess.

  • the DC Boot is the boot that represents the whole tour. One of my faves. Everyone overhypes the Hartford set. Yeah it had a bunch or rare songs in it, but it didn't "feel" like a Pearl Jam show to me. DC does (Roo as well.)

Wow.. man, i thought Hartford was awesome and very very pearl jam with Immortality and Not for you... Plus you know the band is happy when you get SMILE... and the FUCKIN UP JAM was awesome, same with PORCH i thought it was a great show where the band was into the music more than anything...

THE MSG shows the band I think is so into the crowd and puttin on a good show cause its MSG... those were fun shows also... Loved the Tour... BOSTON 1 was short... prob my biggest complaint, not the bands fault tho... just the god damn curfew
