Question about poster trading

I'm heading to the EV show in Detroit, and am gonna grab a poster...if I buy 2, and trade the extra to someone here for another poster from this tour, is that considered flipping..i.e is that frowned upon by others here? I don't want to be the guy trying to profit off these things, just thought it's a cool way to increase my collection while hooking up someone who didn't hit the Detroit show bug wanted a poster. Advice welcome

flipping is when you make money on the item .its ok to make face value

    Or

just get your buddy the poster ;)

So how do you know if the guy in front of you, who is buying multiple posters, is actually buying an extra for a trade and not for a flip?? Is there a specific profile to look out for? What if the person in front of you buys the last two posters, but one is for a friend who isn't at the show. What then? Is that ok?

To the OP... do what ever the heck you want to... Some people will say one thing others will say another....Don't be a Di*k and walk away with half the merchandise... that's certainly not cool.... but it is what it is .... if you want something then go and get it!

Cool, thanks...I just hate seeing people who buy just to cash in later, and I don't want to be THAT guy...

    Just my OPINION...

Its cool if you are picking up a shirt or poster for a friend.

Its NOT cool if you are buying merch to post on ebay at twice the price the next day.

I just hope I am able to get an EV Chicago poster and shirt before they run out.
  • Use your moral compass and be a good person. If you are buying for 20 friends you might get some dirty looks.

I'm only buying 1 extra to trade, NOT sell. I hate seeing prices triple the next day on eBay...I just thought I could help a fellow collector and myself without dealing with flippers.

On the continuum of cool, it's not as cool as someone getting one for a specific friend that couldn't make the show but it's cooler than buying one with the sole intention of putting it on ebay as soon as you get home.

The coolest on that scale is just buying the merch you need for yourself.

I mean, while it seems cool to hook someone else up and increase your own collection, you're doing it at the expense of someone else who was at the show and now can't get the poster. Why don't you save the money you're spending on the second poster and use it to buy a different poster from another show?

I'd heard that there were still posters available post show this tour, so I don't think anyoneis going without
