I always thought Dirty Frank had a recipe for anus-ankle soup...

Anglo-Saxon Soup?? I like anus-ankle much better.
---
I went to several lyric websites to print out Dirty Frank lyrics for a friend whom I affectionately call "Dirty Frank" (he's never heard of pj cause he's really old) and was very surprised to see that he didnt actually have a recipe for anus-ankle soup. I've been singing it wrong for years.
How embarrassing.

    The lyrics on Pearljam.com:

    http://www.pearljam.com/songs/song.php?song=DirtyFrank

If the band's website says its anus-ankle soup, then I'd go with it. Have a bowl for me.

I always thought the next line was, "wanted a pabst, so she relaxed, now the lil cuties gettin chopped up in the back"
And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
    I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.

I wouldn't rely on the lyrics on pearljam.com if I were you...

There's a few instances where they're plain wrong ("No Way", comes to mind). I think they've just been taken from other fan sites.

It is just weird to say don't trust the band on their own lyrics.

Listening to Ed try to sing that in the Gorge boot was hilarious. Him trying to rap is like 50 cent playing guitar.

Also, I just listened to No Way and read PJ's lyrics from their website, and the lyrics are spot on.

Additionally, what a great song from a terrific album!! They have only played No Way 3 times live??? I would love to hear it in concert!!!

Try to sing it?? I thought he did a damn good job! Of course, being there I saw him holding a lyric sheet for it. But still, great live version of Dirty Frank for sure!!

According to pearljam.com "wide awake he shakes in a panic" when I thought it was "wide awake like snakes in a panic". Maybe I'm going mad?

I always heard it "shakes in a panic." I think you are going mad.

  • I almost spit strawberry cola all over the screen when I read the title of this thread. Anus ankle soup is the funniest shit I have heard in quite a while. Thanks for the laughs!
I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too.

I think it is "like snakes in a panic" on Lost Dogs...sure sounds like it to me.

But the version on the "Go" single definitely says "and he shakes in a panic."

I'm 100% certain the lyrics on the website weren't hand-typed in by Ed...

    Nope.

Website says: "All the static in my attic-a, shoots down my side nerve."

The real lyric is "sciatic nerve".
