These guys are musicians, it's what they do for a living. Sure they have plenty of F-U money, they could probably live off the Royalties for the rest of their lives. But to do what?..
They have actually picked up the pace with touring and shows the last few years compared to say 10 years ago. I'm a firm believer in that the guys in Pearl Jam enjoy being in the band, enjoy touring, enjoy having their families both blood and road crew together for these tours. And most importantly these guys enjoy each other's company.
In their non touring, non recording time I'm sure they go there separate ways. Jeff to Montana, to hike, swim, shoot some hoops etc.. Mike to Southern California to work out, play some tennis and enjoy his new found health, Ed to LA to hang with Penn etc or Hawaii to surf with his beach buddies, Matt with his kids at home in Seattle, Stone working on perfecting the most energy efficient home this side of the bio-dome.
Yet every two years they get together, hit the recording studio for a while and go out and tour.
They are in a good place.

I have information that pearl jam is going to embark on a massive, 38 State, 48 show tour of the U.S. starting in April and ending in Seattle in early September. There will be 3 shows each in California (the first three shows) & Washington State (the last 3 shows), with Montana, Texas, Georgia, New York, Mass. & Illinois each getting 2 shows.
2 of the shows are said to be "secret shows" that will be held on the day after a major show in the same city, but a smaller location with tickets going on sale the day of the "secret show".
Approx. 15 shows will be "A Night with Pearl Jam" - 5 hour epic shows with special guests (celebreties - comedians??) to come out and entertain during (2) 20 minute breaks. The guys are said to be playing around with the idea of playing No Code in its entirety from start to finish with no breaks. These will all be outdoor arena's with a festival like atmosphere and various activities throughout the day.
The kicker is, the last show in Seattle will be the last show....period. They will announce the end of the run in their home state, and go out on top like all true champions do.
Trust me people...I get this information from a very relieable source.

I heard the SAME THING from a VERY RELIABLE source. Except you forgot a few key points...
1. Everybody gets laid!
2. Eddie is going to pick from a hat one show to shave his head at and then everyone in attendance will get one single strand of his hair.
3. Mike McCready got his hands on the Delorian and he is going back in time before all the shows to pick up Jimi Hendrix to help close the show jamming out on Little Wing.
4. Ninersfan will be crusified and burnt at the steak durring DTE at the San Francisco show.
5. They are handing out little bag lunches to everyone on thier way in so that each and every person has a nice healthy snack. ***The crusts will be removed.***
6. Boom will be wearing a grass skirt and no underpants.
7. Olivia will sing Leash.
8. Nirvana is opening.
9. They will not only have bootlegs of every show but also bootlegs of 1 hour from before the show of Ed mic'd up and one hour from after the show of audio of the roadies loading gear into trucks. THIS IS SICK!
10. Finally after the 5 hour shows Ed will pull off a mask and scream MIND FREAKKKKKK! revealing that he is really Chris Angel.
Its gonna be a great tour!
