I was at the AWESOME show on my B-day, STILL one of the favorite of the 169 times I was the Grateful Dead! Eyes of the World to open show and about 10 Dark Star teases, Loose Lucy, Might as Well, Truckin>New Speedway Boogie, China Doll, they were pulling out all the stops at this show!

I feel lucky to have seen them that many times, although I used to meet older people on tour that had seen then 300-400 times!

Pulling that one down now. Never got a dark star in my 30 or so shows that I saw.

    Here's my birthday show:

Great show w/ David Lindley and Los Lobos as openers. Smokestack Lightning was a nice surprise.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

Nice - Didn't realize this show was a Hornsby one. As much as I missed Brent, Bruce Honsby was a great replacement for the short time he played with them.

Back then in the early 90's $25.00 to $30.00 depending on the venue, if you spent $35.00 to $40.00 that was considered a lot, some sold out shows or hard to get ticket shows people would be out front trying to sell them for $50.00 to $75.00. What was real popular to do on tour was if you had a hard ticket for a show later on during the tour you could trade for the show you were at and get a little cash also.

GREAT B-Day show, LOVE David Lindley and Los Lobos, plus you got a double encore, that was VERY rare for the Dead, they ONLY did that at special shows! I'm a big Jackson Browne and Warren Zevon fan so like David Lindley a lot , although most people here would be hard pressed to even know who he is!

It was twenty years ago today,
Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play
They've been going in and out of style
But they're guaranteed to raise a smile. :)
