I heard about this on the radio this morning...the kid should be able to look as stupid as he wants...
It is terrifying when you are too stupid to know who is dumb
- Joe Rogan
2. The airline does not have a specific dress code, "but we ask our passengers to dress in an appropriate manner to ensure the safety and comfort of all our passengers." THat is a slippery slope to be traveling on...
What about fat people with their bellys hanging from the bottoms of their shirts, women in "slutty" attire... I could go on and on, but if there is no SPECIFIC dress code saying baggy pants are unacceptable, then I don't see the issue.
3. But...................................................
he is still an idiot for wearing his pants like that and refusing compliance at an AIRPORT, the most sensitive places in the US.
We all have to make sacrifices...
But seriously, airports are stressful, security is high, tensions are high. Most people know this and respect this. And this kid was going to the funeral of his friend? His stupid pants and his attitude will now make him miss that. If you wanna fly, sometimes you gotta comply.
edit: he was returning from funeral. You think that would have given him a little humility.
Here is what I do know ... when you are in an airport and staff or security ask you to do something, you do it or you get fucked with. It's that simple. Rights, fairness, common sense ... it doesn't apply and everyone knows it. Do what they say, or you don't fly and will be hauled off for questioning and get some B.S. charge.
It's that simple. We are flying in their planes and they have control and power. But if you want to make a stand and get fucked with, go for it. Maybe Greyhound's standards are not as high.
Exactly what I was thinking. Definitely a slippery slope...
I just imagined what I would do if they told me I had to pull my pants up to my armpits. I am used to my pants being where I like them.
As long as nothing private was exposed I don't see the problem.
I think the saggy pants looks fucking stupid, but its kinda ridiculous to make a big scene about it. US air better get their lawyers ready for a defense, or prepare to offer a settlement.. unfortunately, I smell a lawsuit.
Exactly... Even if he "wins" this fight and gets an apology and a refund or whatever, he still lost by getting kicked off his flight and harassed by security and police (and pissing everyone else off).
Let's see... I can either
a) Stand my ground, be an asshole to the flight crew, fight police, get charged, pay for a lawyer, still figure out a way to get to Phoenix, and have to come back to San Francisco for numerous court dates....
or
b) pull up my pants
hmmm.... tough decisions in life...
was like a picture
