I want to tailgate both days but my gut feeling is that the band has a secret special band or surprise that will open the show (Pearl jam acoustic, Soundgarden, AIC,etc) just to get everyone in to see the other smaller acts.

Mark my words. They know that everyone will come in for Queens or The Strokes later if they don't.

Saturday I'm just there for PJ.:)[/quote

What if PJ does an early set? I would be ready for anything!

    I cant wait!

i'll be ready to tailgate. lol

Thank you. I really don't want to buy a grill and was hoping to borrow one for my veggie burger and something for hubby. He's not a vegetarian.

I intend on buying a cheap cooler. I hope I can get away with not having to buy lawn chairs. May rent an SUV, put the back up and sit on it..... or buy a blanket or something to sit on.

We are traveling on Amtrak and I guess the train from Chicago to Milwaukee doesn't allow for checked baggage so we will have only what we can carry.

Maybe this will come back in stock, only $10.47

Wow! That's cheap. But I still won't have room. My two bags will be filled with necessities like clothes and shoes (I am definitely an overpacker). Maybe I can talk my husband into giving up one of his bags...... Ha!

Maybe we could buy a cheap one there and then give it away when we are done. I refuse to buy something for a weekend and then throw it in the trash. That's my problem when I think of buying a cheap cooler - they are usually styrofoam - and don't know if anybody would want it or not.

There will be plenty of grills so no worries there. :)

Are you coming up with Melissa and a few others on the train?

I think Melissa is driving with some other friends. They may be picking up Mindi in St. Louis, but not sure. I think we would be somewhat out of their path of travel if they are going through St. Louis. We are in Metropolis/Paducah and if driving would go I24 -> I57 then North. With Amtrak we leave Carbondale, Illinois and go straight north to Chicago. Not sure what route they take from St.Lou.

But we will be staying at the same hotel as Melissa/friends.

Haven't firmed up the itinerary yet, and still have no idea what our mode of transport from Milwaukee to the shows will be....but myself and four others will be drinking and loitering and looking for familiar faces....or....avatars...or...hmmm...balloons and/or flags please :) I don't know if I'd recognize the Bonarrooo boot from any other.....
I've never been to an American tailgate party....I think I read somewhere that people drink alcohol n stuff? Sounds like fun.

Me and my Weber will be there with probably way too much yummy food

    Wouldn't miss it!
Save me some room on that webber lady.
I'm totally in for this but I too have worries about an opening band and what not. Also I'm sure the people I'm going with will be uncomfortable hanging out with us pj nuts.
I might have to ditch them like I did at lollapalooza and end up at some house in Wisconsin. Was it in Wisconsin? It was a helluva long cab ride.
But I'll be in for some tailgating fosho.
    Just, not enough.
    I need more.
    Nothing seems to satisfy.
I said, I dont want it.
    I just need it.
