Flaming Lips at Hollywood Forever Cemetary

Saw the lips do 2 shows over the past 2 night. The stage was set up on a huge lawn in the cemetary, but there were no graves being stepped-on. Security did a good job of keeping people off the gravesites.

Tonight, they performed Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety. They also snuck in a few Wizrd of Oz songs to go with the theme of Old Hollywood.

The lights lasers and confetti canons were amazing, as was the video. They passed out 3D-esque color prism glasses which really enhanced the light show!

Seeing such a macabre band perform a
Pink Floyd album in a cemetary was mind blowing. Johnny Ramone's statue was not far from the stage. There is a quote from EV on the statue.

Yeah I have to admit, I'm a little jealous....
I love The Flaming Lips. And sounds like a couple fantastic shows. Congrats on being able to witness both!

Little jealous too. Did you stick around for the 6am belltower performance w/ Edward Sharpe?
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

Very jealous. The Lips are one of the few left on my list of bands I need to see. They're such an amazing band. I can only imagine how awesome these shows were. Their cover of Dark Side is just pure genius.
