Michael Buble postponed his concert tonight so he and others could watch his beloved Vancouver Canucks. Can you imagine if Vedder cancelled his show for something like this? Granted, i personally wouldnt mind if he did and rescheduled because I sold both my tickets for tonight to watch my beloved Bruins. I am seeing Vedder tomorrow and Saturday anyway.

probably not the case for a weekday Michael Buble show, but what if someone bought plane tickets and hotel rooms to come see a show?

    Shitty thing to do, IMO.

I agree. Cancelling for a sports event doesn't seem right.

You go Michael! I tell ya, Game 7 for the Cup is a BIG deal to hockey fans. Since he's a 'nucks Fan, it's the right thing to do.

Shitty move........people make plans months in advance for this kind of stuff. Suck it up and respect your fans.

Dont know Buble is to begin with, but he seems like a douche.
  • i love Michael Buble - he's got a great voice, lots of charm, and he's really cute :)

He is obviously a big sports fan, but it sucks for any fans who did have to fly and stuff.

I'm not into sports at all. Watch a bit of cricket and tennis, but that's about it.

Anyway, even I'm excited to see who will win tonight. All of the dilemmas on here, seeing how historic it is and exciting for the Bruins (?) and all. It's obviously a big deal to a lot of people, and I am quite looking forward to seeing the scores turn up on here. Have no clue about the actual game, or any other teams. But still, I can understand the excitement.

there is no right or wrong in this situation. just as many will skip the show and lose out on their money to watch the game instead. it goes both ways. damned if you do damned if you don't.

I have no problem with it. I mean what's worse postponing your show one day and putting on your best effort or going through the motions because your mind won't be on the show for a packed house who paid a lot of money to see you.

For what it's worth, my mom raves about him and talked about his shows in the same vein I talk about PJ after she went to his show the last couple of years as Xmas and bday gifts from me.

Yea, I as much as it would have worked out for me personally if Vedder postponed, It would not work out for the majority of the people Im guessing. i dont see how you can cancel or postpone a show the day before. Im sure its creating havoc for many people and their plans. What if you came to watch the show tonight and fly or drive back home tomorrow. its just seems that it would create a logistical nightmare.

I think postponing the show is worse. At least those who are selling/eating their tickets are making the choice as a ticketholder. If that decision is being made for you and you couldn't care less about the game, I imagine it would be frustrating.

Michael Buble is a class act.

Nobody expected the Stanley Cup playoffs to go on as long as they have -- and fans of Michael Buble know how Canadian he is and how much of a hockey supporter he is. This guesture is very thoughtful of him (knowing how much the Boston supporters want to see this final game). He might lose a few fans over this (very few) but whatever. It's a free world.

Good for him, I say!! :D

I'm taking the "bad move" side on this one. Seems like this could really put some people out. What if they have flights/hotels? What if they couldn't make it the next night anyway? Even with a refund, you miss out on a show that you planned and paid for in advance because of a hockey game? Not cool, no matter how much you like hockey. Need to stick to your schedule to accommodate paying fans. If some paying fans choose not to go, that's their personal choice.

By the way, if Ed would have played Houston (stop laughing) I wouldn't skip the performance for any sports event. And I'm a sports nut. Luckily for me, Houston sports teams are crap. And Ed/PJ don't come to Houston. I can't even make a hypothetical out of this. Anyway I spin it, it's depressing. :?

I'd honestly go to the show - assuming I didn't have tickets to the game. I think most people are ditching tix to watch on tv, right. I will say that the lack of shows in the south probably factors into my decision here. I've never seen an Ed solo show and although I've seen a handful of PJ shows, I've had to travel for most. I guess if they played here every tour I might have a different outlook. But I will stick with my stance on bad move to change the show for a game.

I would likely DVR the game and go to the concert. Can't re-watch a concert that I skip.

Fair enough C-Zack, I was just curious as I know how huge college football is in Texas.

Again, it's completely a personal decision and I fault no one that goes either way on this issue.

Agree with others that an artist canceling a performance, potentially screwing up peoples travel plans, pretty weak.
