I had a great time. We went to a National Park and saw the most beautiful water fall.....We always hear or discuss how our country "seems" to be going to shit and all we hear is how bad our land is being treated, it is a shame we never discuss the beautiful sites and land marks created my Mother Nature herself...." America really is a BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY!"
Franklin K. Lane, Secretary of the Interior, delivered a 1914 Flag Day address

Yes... I agree with former Secretary Lane: America IS Beautiful.
Which is probably why we shouldn't be drilling in her natural beauty to fulfill our addiction, right?

The Earth is mostly a beautiful place...our human trace and markings are not. As for flag day, who cares...national pride is a silly and destructive notion.

Lucky is exactly the correct word. We all end up places as a genetic accident. Everyone has roots from somewhere. Everyone has some feeling of culture or emotion to their heritage. Yours isn't any more important than anyone elses nor is your national pride.

It's just a time Americans show pride for there country. WTF is wrong with that? You got a problem with it than ignore the post and stop being so nasty.

i am lucky to have been born here. if i hadn't been and wanted to move here it would have been a massive pain in the ass...

aerial, many people, including myself are ashamed of some of the things that my country has done, and a flag represents all of it. good, bad or indifferent that flag represents all of it. so i will not compromise my values by waving a flag while my country is waging 2 wars and bombing 2 other countries and threatening still other ones.

maybe i will bring it out again when we have peace. until that happens, i respect your opinion, but i can not go along with the idea of flag day. it is just an excuse to drum up more patriotic ferver and divide the people because people like me are ostracized over our reluctance to go along with it....

so my flag remains hanging on my wall in my basement practice space where it has been since i bought my house in late 2000... it makes a cool backdrop behind all of my amps and the drumkit...

I respect your opinion, I just like to celebrate good and try to make the bad better.
You do have a flag and display it as one of the best back drops there is. 8-)

thank you. i understand what you are saying and i respect and can agree with that.

yeah it is a big flag, it is 4' by 6' and actually takes up quite a bit of the wall, along with a smaller Union Jack flag, a Stag beer sign (don't ask lol) and an iconic black and white poster of John Belushi wearing that sweatshirt that says "COLLEGE" on the front.... it all looks pretty cool together lol....the ironic thing is that all of my amps are Marshalls, made in the UK, except for the one Matchless made in the US. lol..
