"I’m the commander in chief. I make the decisions. I tell the generals what to do," Paul, 75, said. "I’d bring them home as quickly as possible. And I would get them out of Iraq as well. And I wouldn’t start a war in Libya. I’d quit bombing Yemen. And I’d quit bombing Pakistan. I’d start taking care of people here at home because we could save hundreds of billions of dollars."

A conservative who, when he says less government, actually means it. If he got the nod I'd consider voting for him.

I think its funny how Ron Paul was laughed at back 4 years ago with this same foreign policy agenda, but now a lot of conservatives are jumping on board because our economy is in the crapper.

He is a dramatic change to our status quo, and I for one am done with it. Getting the Republican nomination will be really tough since the top brass of the GOP really does not like him. The only reason I'm still a registered Republican is to support him in the primary.

I can't say i agree with everything with everything that Paul says but i can agree with him about this. sadly he still won't win.

For me, its more about getting his message out there than winning. Our foreign and monetary policy have been a complete failure of the past 60+ years. How about some change there?

you are right...it seems like the message is actually getting out there...
but change...no way that would be hard...band-aids are much easier to apply while we bleed out

Wow, imagine that. A candidiate who says everything the people want to hear. Saying it is the easy part. Getting it done is an entirely different story.

    Easier said than done.
A quick exit in Iraq leaves them open to form a Shi-ia Bloc with Iran... which, I wouldn't blame them. Saddam Hussein kept the Shi'ites split between the two for decades. So, having a nuclear capable, oil fueled Iran/Iraq bloc wouldn't be such a bad thing in the Sunni dominant region.
Afghanistan... a.k.a West Pakistan... will probably go back to a fundamentist state that funds its adventures with heroin exports to the junkie Western Civilization.
If anything... we should learn from this fact... easy to go to war... very difficult and costly to get out.
    ...
But YES... we do need to leave the area and just come to terms that maybe... God wants the Middle East to look like that. We need to QUIT fucking around with Arabs/Persians in THEIR homeland. Because we have been there for so long... they came here on September 11th. Our forign policy towards the Middle East HAS TO CHANGE. When was the last time it worked?
