For those going to EV in Santa Barbara

The Mrs. And I went up to SB wine country a few days ago. The area is about 45 miles north of the SB Bowl, but it is well worth the drive. There are dozens of wineries to visit, and most offer good deals on tastings.

Also in the area is the town of Solvang, which is made up of all things related to Denmark....there are dozens of shops selling Danish items, as well as restaurants with Danish food and beer.

Also in the area is the Chumash casino....slots, poker and blackjack.

    Solvang!!! my girlfriend used to live there! we visited last year, great little town, awesome pastries for breakfast!

    I'd also recommend the State Street Crawl..just head a few blocks up from the Bowl to State Street after the show..lots of cool bars (check out Joes)

    Thanks for the info. The problem with driving out to wine country is that you can only drink so much wine if you want to drive back!

    It looks like there are a number of wineries right downtown in SB and we were planning to hit a few of those. Is that not a good idea?
