Pj20 Opening Acts... give 'em a chance!

My wife has always been grudgingly willing to listen to openers/festival acts, and *only* grudgingly. I couldn't get her to listen to the other PJ20 bands/solo acts (She loves QotSA and knows the Strokes already), but I stealth-zapped her by throwing "Once" on TV last night, and after crying and generally loving the movie, she's totally looking forward to Glen Hansard now.

I told her... "That's a good thing, since you'll be seeing him three times this summer!" :D

If there's an opening act you don't want to get to know, give 'em a chance. Might work out well.

And if you haven't seen "Once" yet (the film starring Glen Hansard and his "Swell Season" partner, Marketa Irglova)... you should.
Is it too much to ask for a full-blown Temple of the Dog set? Probably.

I 2nd that - such as sweet film. When I realized that was the Glen Hansard opening for Eddie I was thrilled.
And his backing vocals on Sleepless Nights on Ukulele Songs is perfect with Eddie's voice.

    Glen Hansard is brilliant.
I am really happy that I will see him live again. Saw him last with the Swell Season in Coachella, and they were brilliant.
I am just a dreamer, but you are just a dream...
If I knew where it was I would take you there.

Need to get the Young Evils. They sound great. Loved at first, but then wrote off the Strokes after album 1. Decided to pick up their new one after the PJ20 announcement. Surprisingly solid.

Couldn't agree more. I am familiar with several of the spportig acts and for those I don't know, if PJ thinks they are good enough to play at their party, I will certainly be checking them out.
    Be kind whenever possible.
    It is always possible.
