Providence 6/15 & the 10c ticket dilemma

So, it appears many of you will be skipping out on this show because of the Bruins game tomorrow.

I assume some of you have 10c tix that need to be picked up at will call. Most of you dont plan on driving to Providence to sit outside the venue to sell your tickets. You are just going to eat the cost.

So, in the event you cant sell your ticket before tomorrow....or you dont have any intention of even trying....I have an idea...

Im not sure if this can be done, but its just a thought, and I'll leave it to someone who has knowledge on how to get this done...

Is there any way, to have your 10c tickets raffled off at the Providence Wishlist Foundation Preparty?? (The tickets are just going to sit there, at will call, claimed by no one, leaving an empty seat in the venue anyways, why not try and fill those seats!!!)

Again, Im not sure if this can be done. It would obviously require the Wishlist Foundation Preparty organizer and probably the 10c to get together on this... But its just a thought. Ed should not have to look at a bunch of empty seats tomorrow night, AT HIS OPENING SHOW IN THE U.S.!!! Ed's NEVER gonna come back to RI if we make such a poor showing!!!

10c gods...Wishlist Foundation.... Thoughts??

Also...I tried to find you all a link to the preparty thread, but with all the people selling/getting rid of their tickets, there are too many providence threads to weed through now. (Paging The 81 for assistance)...

I'll be there...but try telling that to a hardcore Bruins fan.

Guess everyone thinks they'll be able to sell their tickets in under 24 hours...

    good luck

Ha, and Vancouver can't score in Boston which is why we're in a Game 7. The B's will get their shit together and Timmy T will be a brick wall tomorrow night.
He who forgets will be destined to remember.

I was in Portland last year for My Morning Jacket when they played the re-opening of State Theater. Very nice place.

As for tomorrow, the venue site and tickets all say 7:30p. Glen Hansard opener. Im guessing Ed will take the stage some where between 8-8:30.

And...if you can believe it...with all the people here trying to get rid of their tickets for this show...there are still tickets available through the venue's site...as of right now. PPAC is gonna be empty.

We went to the re-done State Theater to see Cake about a month ago and it is really nice. The Bowery Presents people really know what they are doing.

Damn, I'd love to see Glen Hansard. Dont think I can get out of work and rally the troop early enough.

Is that why no one wants my tickets? I am a Bostonian and excited for the Bruins but I had a colossal fall and sprained my hip among other things which is why I can't go. I just so want someone to go to the show more than I'm worried about the money (at this point i would give them to someone even though i'm definitely not rolling in dough!). I've had to miss a show once before due to a health issue and it was awful, but at least they were 10c seats and they let me transfer them so someone from the board got 3rd row tix! These are the best of the tickets I have of the next 3 shows (except don't know about 10c) I have and couldn't figure out why no one wanted them!

Philly during the world series was maybe less imminent, fans still packed the place. I'm a huge sox fan but woulda seen pj/EV during the world series unless I somehow scored WS tickets and even then I woulda been conflicted. I didn't realize prov area was also so in to the Bruins! But to me there is no comparison btwn a live and televised event.

I say, dvr it and don't check your phone/internet. I May end up watching the game if I feel well enough, but while I say "go bruins" I'll be rooting for EV! I really hope other folks can be there in person to do the same.

  • Wish EV could reschedule this. I have about 5 people out of 10 in my circle of friends that aren't going to the show because of the game. I'm one of them. So bummed out to miss this show in Providence. This place is going to have a lot of empty seats and a lot of people are going to be eating good money. Just can't miss game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Go Bruins.

Yeah, The State is awesome. I live down the street from it and this year caught MMJ, Trey, Jeff Tweedy, and Avett Brothers. So many great bands have come through there over the years. Before it closed a fews years back I saw The Strokes, Wilco, Interpol, and Kings of Leon.

I don't know about anyone else but I went to a lot of P Bruins games as a kid and been watching the Bs since I was a teenager. They are big in my family...still deciding what to do! If I had a ticket to Boston or Hartford it wouldn't be such a hard choice. Leaning towards the show.

Three of the four Fan Club tickets my friend and I bought are going to end up going unused.

  • Why do people in RI care about Boston? Plus Boston is going to lose so you will have the worst night ever if you skip the show.

RI is the smallest state in the US. It might as well be considered CT or MA.

Michael Buble rescheduled his show for tonight at Mohegan Sun in CT and moved it to tomorrow...so that his fans could watch the game tonight. I was a little surprised at that... Mostly because I cant imagine Michael Buble fans being hockey fans also.

Providence is only an hour from Boston and ten minutes from MA. Boston is closer to Rhode Island then most cities are to the outer reaches of their fan best. I'm sure there are plenty of MA people that bought tickets to Vedder's show (myself included).
  • Plenty of NJ people are NY sports fans (ick), what does it matter? We have the P Bruins here too.

I can't believe these threads about eating EV tickets to watch a hockey game... it's amazing, but that's me.
