It's always hard to tell if a black-comedy will be good based off of the preview.

But you've got to admit, The Hangover 2 is easily the most descriptive movie title of the year.

You also thought 'The Other Guys' was pretty decent, sir. I don't know if I can acknowledge your cred.

    beat it.

this is better than other guys, which i still contend was/is funny.

At best a smirk was put on my face at some point. And I don't ask for much in stupid movies.

This, on the other hand, seems kind of promising, but I think I'll leave it for hunover-on-a-Sunday-watching.

Also, by any chance, you didn't find Magruber funny did you?

Magruber IS funny  that's as stupid as a stupid comedy can get.

i do think you'll like this one though. i don't really watch Always Sunny for some reason, but that charlie day cat is hillarious in this movie.

Yeah, that is surprising you're not into Always Sunny. It's a shame because it's gotten lame as balls lately. I highly suggest picking up the dvd's and starting with season 1 or the X-mas dvd.

Yeah, I figure Charlie's role in the movie will be almost exactly like his Always Sunny character(type-cast).

And Magruber? Seriously? You're a two-face of comedy. One minute I get what you're saying, and then boom, I see you under the porch light and there's this kind of stuff.

I'm sorry, that dude is not funny, nor has the majority of SNL in the latter decade. Hence due to having dudes like him on there. But, I will say the only saving grace of those skits was Kristin Whiig or whatever her name is. And she's only marginally funny at best. WHERE HAS THE FUNNY GONE?!!?

i agree with you for the most part. i just think magruber is pretty much the only funny snl movie in well over a decade.

and, as we've talked about before, i think there are funny people on that show. the writing is just awful. always thought will arnett was a funny guy though. with that said, i think i watched a total of 30 minutes of snl this year.

oh--also jason sodeikus seems funny too, and probably would be moreso if the writing was better. he's the 3rd guy in this movie.

Yes, we have. Biggest problem is the writing - how the hell is Seth Meyers a senior writer? Plus, it's no longer based around absolute maniacs since Farrell left.

well give us a comedic frame of reference here.

what's a 10 to you what's a 0 to you, and where does this lay in that scale?

i'd give it a solid 6.5 with 10 being anchorman and 0 being hangover 2.

I can't agree with the Jugglers scale because in no way do I see Anchorman being a 10.

Horrible Bosses was as good as Anchorman, like someone said earlier..eh. :|

No one has mentioned Mr. Mike McCready in the credits.

    agreed.

the local movie review guy on the local radio station liked it...said it was one of the top comedy's of the year, along with bridesmaids.

Both of your scales are terrible. Anchorman is nearly a 10, and I know this is not. And Other Guys is somewhere around a chuckle. One chuckle.

i said this is a 6.5-ish. that is a pretty accurate assesment.

I work in a shopping center with a movie theater so after work decided to check it out. Had one of those regal fee movie passes so that was cool. Overall I enjoyed it and had a few laughs in the process :)

John Frances Daly (Freaks & Geeks) i think co-wote this and was briefly in the movie as well.
