  • This is such a load of shit. My grandparents paid into Medicaid for years and then when it comes time for them to be able to use it they are either ignored or disallowed. My grandfather has had about three or four heart attacks now within the past month. Every time he goes into the hospital to get checked, and it is more than one hospital he has been to, the staff do their best to try to get him discharged as quickly as possible as opposed to actually looking into his problem. Finally, this past week one of the hospital staff finally explained to them that the reason they aren't really being helped out is because Medicaid won't help pay for the costs.

Of course the average per person annual cost of serving an adult on Medicaid is less. When you create so many exceptions and loopholes not to pay out it's going to naturally be less.

My mom is on it. My wife's parents are on it and aunts and uncles are on it. Quote from my Uncle Red. "If we didn't have Medicare they would have killed us off by now." It seems to be working for them.

I'm not sure how someone morally justifies big cuts to Medicaid. Do they think there is affordable health insurance for poor people?

You might be confusing Medicare and Medicaid.
