Their last album, "all your favourite bands" is worth a listen. Great from front to back.

I loved the last album - and looking forward to their new one.

It just leaked on NPR Music.
  • I have to say, these guys are extremely talented, well defined song structures and lyrical content with smooth vocals...

That being said, for whatever reason, they grate on my very last nerve...

I got so sick of hearing their tunes on Sirius/Spotify radio, that I started hitting the dislike button...

Oddly enough listening to the Spectrum their new tune came on, I didn't immediately recognize it as Dawes...about 1 minute in, I was like, what is this garbage? And bingo it was Dawes...

    Validating my dislike of them...

I think it just resonates as too polished and does not strike me as daring in any way...but I'm not even completely sure...

These guys have come to be one of my very very favorite bands. After seeing them as festival acts/short sets 3 times, finally got to see a full show a couple months ago. Just as wonderful (and more) as I hoped it would be! Got to see them at Rough Trade on Taylor's birthday a couple weeks ago for a tiny 5-song set/live new album announcement. That was pretty cool!

Taylor is one of the best songwriters around. His words are beautiful, poetic, hard-hitting, introspective, real--all the good stuff.

solid tight/live band.  I only knew a handful of songs, but they were good.  Played for over 2 1/2 hours.
