School of Seven Bells sounds pretty good. Never heard of them. The girl lead singer is a cutie too.

Please do yourselves a favor and don't watch The Strokes.

I watched them at the KROQ Weenie Roast last weekend, and Julian Casablancas sounded so bad I'm no longer looking forward to seeing them. Twice.

Here's to hoping he cleans it up before Labor Day!
Is it too much to ask for a full-blown Temple of the Dog set? Probably.

Grace Potter & the Nocturnals are one of the best bands out there right now. That was an awesome set.

If you haven't seen the Jacket lately I highly recommend them tonight.

Man- Sorry to keep reading bad stuff about about the Strokes. I've never seen them.

I was blown away. I had no intentions of sitting here in front of my computer for that long but I didn't want to stop watching. I started off just listening while browsing other tabs and I ended up watching it full screen for the last 45 minutes. I already bought the newest album on iTunes, and I already looked into tour dates and they're coming to my town in August and I think I'm going to go. It's been a long time since I've been sold on a band that quickly and easily.

wow, i didn't think much of the recent Best Coast album but this performance is a lot worse than i remember them sounding

Well, bear in mind, it's not the whole band that sucked, just Julian Casablancas. He's only one dude, so I imagine if he gives a great performance, it's probably riveting. Unfortunately, he hasn't done that too much lately.

Reminds me of Stone Temple Pilots - we saw them at Voodoo a couple years ago, and Scott Weiland's drunk/high shenanigans were so off-putting that the entire set was a waste of time, especially contrasted to the professionalism (musically) Nine Inch Nails and REM showed when closing their sets. If QotSA and Pearl Jam both play rollicking sets that really show off their catalogs but Julian Casablancas can barely croak out songs, it's gonna be bathroom-break time.

Well J Cole is playing now. I didn't know who he was, and now I'm turning off the stream.

I wonder if many folks here are MMJ fans because they led into Pearl Jam at Lolla 2007. :?

I can't really get into their sound, although I've seen them twice, I respect the band and understand that Stan Smith thinks Jim James sings like an angel.

But in the real world, changing your name to Yim Yames and joining Monsters of Folk made you an automatic "no-listen" from me, and I have yet to unravel why I should change my opinion on MMJ. I could just be wrong.

    Bonnaroo Death

A woman attending the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee has been found dead.

Coffee County Sheriff Stephen M. Graves said in a news release on Friday that the festival security staff was told by people camping at the event that they found a friend dead in her campsite. The sheriff’s office was notified at about 11 p.m. Thursday.

Graves identified the dead woman as being 32 years old and from the Pittsburgh, Pa., area. Her name was withheld while relatives were informed of her death.

The state medical examiner’s office will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The high temperature in Manchester where Bonnaroo is staged was 91 degrees on Thursday.
