I'm sure I'm in the vast minority, but I love this guy and absolutely can't wait for his new album to come out in two weeks. Great singer songwriter with pop hooks, an amazing live show and one hell of an artist at the stage banter.

Oh well. My two cents.

i absolutely love singer songwriters. may be my favorite genre of music. Anyways, yeah im a fan of matt. When he played at a local venue, he was hilarious, and i remember one part of the show where, his mic and monitor werent working correctly, and the sound guy goes "yeah i think its because of such and such, thats the issue". and matt goes, "well are you gonna come up and fix it?". and the whole crowd goes "oooohhhhh" Pretty funny. I knew the sound guy and he was a good guy and matt was pretty even tempered and humorous up to that point. he sounded serious as hell when he said that, but i couldnt tell if he was kidding or serious or what.

reguardless, anytime i hear of a new singer songwriter i make sure to check them out.

WHOA! Now I know what it's like to be a girl at a RUSH concert!

Saw Matt at the Fillmore last night in SF, just praise god for bringing so much beauty into the world! There were like 25 men there, and five of them were up on stage! And Matt is just one bawdy mofo! He had those ladies all revved up in a tizzy! I mean, not even disney movies were safe, quoting lil mermaid songs with "It's better down here where it's wetter!" heheheh. He is quite the showman, great front man, with a pretty solid no frills band, matt is definitely the center of attention.

Really dug Wedding Dress song in the encore when his lead guitarist finally opened up, ripping solo on a ripping song. And man, that guy was throwing a bunch of tags in, Ray LaMontaigne's Jolene, Whitney I wanna dance with somebody, Tainted Love, constantly tagging songs and moving on.

He had to cancel his San Jose concert (opening for Kelly CLarkson....) to do Dancing with the STars, so this I gathered was a special make-up show for his hometown. Sold out in hours. And the place was jumping, if the screams were all just a wee bit high-pitched. Played like 21 songs over nearly 2 hours, and a good 3-4 long interludes of story-telling/stand-up routine. But man, he was really sincere, really appreciative of his fans and the Bay Area radio stations that have really helped him. He was really touched by the outpouring of support.

Lotta new songs in a row kinda drove energy down, but he was pro enough to then throw a radio hit in and pump it back up. And man, his opener Racheal Patton was infectious!

    Fun fun show!
