My Morning Jacket stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night, June 7th. The Louisville, KY band performed their new album Circuital's title track. They also played "You Wanna Freak Out" as an online only exclusive.

    got to be one of the "band bench" guests and stand on stage while they played. fortunately, my friend that i took with me has a connection with one of Jimmy Fallon's guys so we got to go backstage and visit The Roots and even got to say hi to MMJ. super cool dudes.
    Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
    Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
    Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!

    the MMJ guys were pretty exhausted (wouldn't you be too if you were in that band?) but they were still pretty nice. the roots were sick. such nice guys. ?uestlove gave us his used drumsticks from that show and we just chilled and hung out in their office/recording studio. soul singer betty wright came by to practice some songs that they're collaborating on for her upcoming record.

    I have a Questlove drumstick from a show in '09. I have seen them 6 times, and MMJ 3 times. That's awesome that you met them. I did not get picked even though I sent a submission. I did win for Pavement in September but I could not go, which sucked.

    I actually got invited by their drummer to have drinks with some of the guys in MMJ after they opened up for Pearl Jam in DC. I saw him outside after the show and we got to talking about SEC football, the next thing you know I am hanging at a bar around the corner from the venue with them.
