I use to get a mix of tension headaches and migraines on a daily basis. Don't buy any of the drug store excedrine or motrin for tension headaches, that stuff doesn't work long term and just leads to rebound headaches. Although regular excedrine helps somewhat because of the caffeine and guzzle a large cup of Starbucks in the morning. It gets you through the days there really is no cure for them. I hope it's not a daily thing for you and they go away.

My sister suffered from migranes when she was younger...our family doc at the time sent her home with an oxygen tank and told her when she got them to take it for a few mins...It really seemed to work...dont know if this is the same kind of thing or not, or if it will help, but just thought I would throw it out there...hope you feel better.

until recently i got them a lot
mix between migraine and tension like the other poster said

my best friend was a drug called Fioricet
its a combo of butalbital (smooth muslce relaxer works on blood vessels in your head), acetaminophen (tylenol), and caffeine

It also comes with codeine called Fiorinal..same but w codeine

It was a miracle for me

Maybe ask your Doc about it?

I get both headaches and migraines.
I have tried so manyt things but I also have insomnia. So Im leary about taking drugs. I usually take Advil extra strength Liqui Gels. That helps or headaches. I know tons of people that tell me I should drink a cup of strong black coffee and eat some dark chocolate and the headache will go away.

Problem being that both of those things are headache triggers for me. So I have learned to avoid them.

I just started taking a new migraine med though that seems to help. Its called Maxalt. I am trying the wafer form that melts in your mouth. I have tried it once. It helped alot. I could function. The drug I used to take was called Imitrex but it knocked me on my ass and I had to pretty much go straight to sleep and had to take it at onset or it did nothing for me. We being a stay at home mom that just didnt work.

I just noticed you had a thread for weather related headaches and now this. I suffer from migraines, but it's been significantly fewer since I got an eye prescription... not saying that's the solution...

Have you seen a doctor/specialist?
