Miles Davis' Kind of Blue is my go to rainy day album. I finally got a 180 gram vinyl copy and it sounds fantastic. Can any Miles' gurus out there recommend to me the next album or two I should get?

You of course can't go wrong with "Birth of the Cool" but I also really like 'Round About Midnight.

Most of the original albums in the catalog are rewarding in some way. But early purchases I'd recommend after KoB would be:

-In a Silent Way. Miles transitions into electric, great sound here. One of my all time desert island discs.
    -Milestones
    -Bitches Brew

The '70's albums after Bitches Brew are definitely "difficult" and are more about the funk/groove than the melodic stuff of the earlier material. But still rewarding and brilliant, you just have to be open minded. Miles was a genius.

    Enjoy!

Bitches Brew is a really 'ear-opening' experience. Not for the faint-hearted!

Milestones is great and someone already mentioned Birth of the Cool.

Sketches of Spain is very hit and miss for me.

The Bitches Brew live cd that was released this years is very good if you haven't checked that out yet.

I second this. Everything by Coltrane is great.

Also Tribute to Jack Johnson is pretty damn cool. Lots of guitar in that one. :D

Sure. I bought all those RSD mono pressings from a few years back and they sound amazing. I also got the 10" Prestige box sets. I love that era of Miles and thought they did a great job on those pressings.

By all accounts the new 200g pressings from Analogue Recordings are fantastic.

thanks, I watched the Don Cheadle Miles Davis movie last night and realized I need some more of Miles's records. The movie was ok. :)

I always loved In a Silent Way.
Edit. Just noticed the question about vinyl :) I only have a 2010 repress of kind of blue. It sounds pretty good.
