Is this the final lineup? If so, my opinion is that it is pretty weak, just me though. Besides PJ the only other band im interested in is The Strokes, and that is only mild interest.

Please, do yourself (and the rest of us) a favor and listen to the acts you're disregarding before you do so. You might be surprised to find out how much you like them.

And Strokes > Queens of the Stone Age? Ugh. Not convincing.
Is it too much to ask for a full-blown Temple of the Dog set? Probably.

Thanks for the advice, like I hadn't done that already. There were so many rumors of bigger acts like Neil Young, MMJ, even Ben Harper that pushed my expectations a bit higher, that's all. Also how am I doing "the rest of us" a favor by listening to some bands?

I like both the Strokes and Queens of the Stone Age and even if there are other bands added to the lineup, I only care that Pearl Jam is playing everything else is an added bonus.

They would piss off so many people from so many areas of the word if they did this. I expect at least 2 hrs each night. And thats on the short side.

I am fairly certain that the line up is complete and the Acts are set....But, special guest appearances, now that is a different story :D

Tim pretty much confirmed a few weeks ago on AET that this would for sure not be a festival set. He was making it sound like about 2 1/2 hours each night.

I also will not be surprised if , as a way to get people in early, Ed does a solo set before the festivities begins or PJ does an acoustic set each day to start the day.

i like qotsa a lot and the strokes a little, i think it would be cool to see mudhoney and the rest of the lineup i'm sure will be much better than most give them credit for. i really don't want any other acts added, just a few surprise guests...ehem, dave grohl and chris cornell!

the more they add the less time PJ will have at the end of the night, just keep things the way they are and give us the 2 and a half hours we are used to! :D

too bad Ben Harper is busy that weekend...would have been awesome. I am crossing fingers he will show up at one of the EV solo shows since Ben plays the Vic the night after the 2 Eddie shows...

surprise guests I would like to see? Chris Cornell (HUNGER STRIKE, puhhhhlease!), Neil, Dave Grohl, Soundgarden, AIC...and Cluthe/Lee would be pretty freaking awesome as well :)
    Makes much more sense...

I agree that its all about PJ, (and an acoustic/Ed solo opener would be AWESOME), I also agree that I am excited to see Queens and Strokes among all the other acts, but I am surprised at how little people have mentioned Mudhoney... I mean they have great music, they were an inspiration, and they do great collaborative work on stage with PJ!

and you mean EXTREMELY MILD... like a chicken wing that's supposed to be mild and you';re saying... "what the fuck, does this ting have ANY sauce on it?"

i like the other approach which is to "try" and familiarize yourself with these weak acts so you can TRY to like them!!

Pssst! It's not about the other acts.

Sure, it'd be nice to have Neil Young and Ben Harper and The Who and Soundgarden and the Beatles reunited. It's also nice to not have to pay $300 a ticket.

And the end of the day, for me, this is about celebrating 20 years of Pearl Jam. I don't care who the hell else is there.

Because then we don't have to see another lame rehash thread about how crummy the lineup is disguised as new information. If the only other band you have an interest in is The Strokes, you really haven't done your homework. Or you just have awful taste.
Is it too much to ask for a full-blown Temple of the Dog set? Probably.

Probably as much as your post will do in having me reconsider going.
