No known goal

I may have no more hope in any standard outcome
I don't.
it's all gone!
that fairy tale ending is no longer in my mind
my days are what they are
beauty is what it is
breathing and eating and drinking and sleeping
and I am just like the baby pushing to walk
not knowing why but
moving in that direction
wobbly legs and holding on to what's within reach
to try to stand and move off my knees
crawl
walk
run
it's a progression that comes naturally
without any understanding of the drive to do it
and I think that's where I'm living now
there's no plan
there's no known goal anymore
I'm just moving ahead because I'm driven to
and we're all alone in this life except for our chosen companions
and I'm not even trying to understand anything
I'm just moving forward because I need to
