cant understand where A fits into it

ok so can anyone tell me why I am mine finishes in A???????? i know this might sound like a stupid question and yes i understand a song is what it is and pj made so they can do what they want ... but all that aside, why the feck does i am mine finish in the chord a? it just sounds silly everytime i listen to it or play it myself ... like a wrong chord who doesnt belong...

i kind of like how it ends. it seems like the story is allowed to keep going in a way. that's how the intro ends as well...just my 2 cents.
