Makes me think of a kitten playing with a ball of yarn. Nauseously fluffy.

Their first record is easily their best, and in my opinion it is a fantastic record. Don't think they'll get back there again...

crap i guess im the only person on the board who actually really likes it..... i guess after a few listens you sorta enjoy it a bit more........has anyone seen them live? anyone else notice they do the exact same performance every single show?? i watched a concert they did in 09 from tokyo ...i saw them in new orleans and the setlist and song order was the same...Chris' antics were the same...he did the same running and jumping at the same parts of the same songs...i mean it seemed sooo rehearsed

They don't suck and don't deserve all of the hate thrown at them that they receive, but this song doesn't impress me. Viva la Vida was actually a pretty good album so here's hoping this is one of the weaker songs on the new one.

Interesting they talk about Coldplay nicking songs - I can't listen to any of the singles from Viva la Vida without having a massive sense of deja-vu for a song I already know but can't quite place. It drives me mad when I hear them on the radio. I didn't manage to get through more than ten seconds of the latest one, it made me feel sick - but I do really rate their second album - rush of blood to the head - that has some great songs on imho, and I listened to it a lot and got a lot from it at the time. I can cope with that one and Parachutes - but nothing else!

I'd go with the 2nd record, but they're both really good.

I had low expectations for this song after reading through the thread, but after listening I think I actually like it. :o

A Rush Of Blood To The Head is damn good as well. I think I feel so strongly about the first because I have some pretty fond personal memories of listening to it during some important times.

hahaa... I'd just gotten my wisdom teeth out and was massively fucked up on codeine when I wrote that article. Same with the 311 hit piece that followed it. I might have to do that more often.

I thought they had a chance to pick up Radiohead's guitar-style fanbase but they choose to go in a more "pop" direction. Too bad.
