I'll keep an eye on it for you.

wanna do an experiment and see if 81's phone can swim in beer?

im not sure where this has been such a big deal...don't most phones last WELL over 12 hours? Have it fully charged and you should be fine unless you are talking on the phone all day and why would you do that when there are great bands playing allll day.0

Shoe-Powered Battery May Charge Mobile Phones
By Kendra Srivastava | Wed Aug 24, 2011 3:59 pm
People may soon be able to use "in-shoe technology" to charge their cell phones while going for a walk, making dead batteries a thing of the past.
Tom Krupenkin and Ashley Taylor at the University of Wisconsin at Madison's mechanical engineering program invented a shoe insert that generates electrical energy from people's footsteps. The creators say their technology may eventually charge people's cell phones during a 2-hour walk.
Krupenkin and Taylor's "in-shoe technology" works by harnessing the thermodynamic power people generate with each footfall.
To make the device, the duo reversed a process called electrowetting, in which conductive liquid applied to the surface of an electrode changes with exposure to an electrical charge. By running this reaction backwards, Taylor and Krupenkin realized they could generate electrical charge by using the changing physical form of liquid drops.
In simpler terms, "If you run a motor in reverse you get an electrical generator," explains Krupenkin.
The team has so far gotten 150 droplets to produce several milliwatts of power. But if they coat a 40-centimeter-thick electrode with 1,000 droplets, Krupenkin predicts the device will produce 10 watts.
Ten watts is enough to power a mobile phone or even a netbook. And this would be portable power too -- Krupekin describes it as "a mobile electronic unit with you that is always ready."
Taylor and Krupekin's experiment is the first of its kind, though Samsung in 2008 debuted a water-powered battery. It worked by producing hydrogen from a reaction between metal and water once the phone turned on, leading hydrogen and oxygen to mix and create power in the fuel cell.
The two students formed a company called InStep NanoPower and are working on a prototype for sale within two years.0 -

there was an article in forture or money or one of those rags on the new CEO and they were talking about teh fins and how they acted in meetings....basically, the same conclusion that you had.
i don't doubt that they will make some great hardware, and the software from what i've read is getting solid reviews....but can they catch google and apple. it was interesting that google rejected nokia an approved user of android because they were teh biggest and google wanted to work with smaller phone manufactures such as HTC, motorola, etc.
it was also interesting that google bought up motorola.81 is now off the air

Yeah, the stories my co-workers come back with from Finland are insane

Hopefully Nokia won't get squeezed out. I loved all the Nokia phones I ever owned. I've sold my soul to Apple now though
