Seems MSNBC is really grasping for straws here. Funny how they don't seem to give a shit when somebody burns it.

so there are no examples of fox news blowing anything out of proportion or making things up to score points with it's audience? how about the whole tea party movement, health care rumors and lies, and obama not being a citizen? those are all grasping at straws too.

    it happens on both sides....

and to the op, flag burning is protected speech. same as the westboro baptist church's signs. i don't particularly like the act of burning the flag, but whoever wants to do it has every right to do so, and they assume the risk of bodily harm should someone kick their ass for doing so..... it is a symbol, just like flying it upside down as a sign of distress.

Seriously... do you take stuff the people on television say seriously? The only reason why people are on television is to make money for themselves... off of the fools who take them seriously.
Television is entertainment... watch 'The Simpsons', instead... and get a lot more out of your T.V.

First off, the post isn't about Fox. If you want to talk about Fox go ahead and create one. Although it's already been done here numerous times. Health Care rumors and lies? I don't know, so far everything they have told me was going to happen to my insurance has happened. And on the topic of Obama being a citizen, nobody brought it up more then MSNBC(besides Trump). MSNBC tried playing that card forever knowing it gave the dems points. You never saw much about the issue on Fox. Nice try though. I get a kick out of people that tell me what Fox does from what they read on Media Matters, and never actually watch it.

An actual fox is smarter than Fox and MSNBC combined.

There are food shortages in other countries. What makes you think it will not happen in this country.

(the food shortages in other countries are generally caused by over-forestation to ship products to America, food being sent to America or land rendered un-farmable by land mines, war, drought and pollution. Which I guess can all happen in America. But that's not what I'm laughing at.)

OK, since I seem to be the only one who notices it, they have an un-needed apostrophe in the word "lets."

"Lets" means "allows." And even the use of it spelled properly is odd... suggesting that without what is really just a box of seeds, you won't be able to grow vegetables in your own garden.

But adding the apostrophe makes it a contraction for "let us." And I'd have thought that any company would have a copy writer who finished the 8th grade and would know that.

Or am I just a stuck up "edumacated person from librul-elite academia?"

Regarding the flag business- Abbie Hoffman started it! Blame him. :)

Rearding MSNBC- just another major news media. It's (yes, with an apostrophe) all fluff.

Regarding illiteracy: Two signs I recently spotted in a bookstore :

    Note in book: "who's book?"

    Sign over section: "Childern's Books"

...a bookstore for cryin' out loud!
"Pretty cookies, heart squares all around, yeah!"
    -Eddie Vedder, "Smile"

"Try to not spook the horse."
    -Neil Young

I once had a letter from an angry fan after I said something on my podcast that bothered him. I think it was something to do with closeted men who are married but get sex on the side with guys.

He attacked me in many ways and then finished up saying "and at least I'm not a looser like you!!"

To which I answered, "The word 'loser' has one o. 'Looser' is what your asshole is after you leave the bath house and go back home to your wife."

Yup. I use the television for entertainment use. I find the Simpsons entertaining.
I do not use television for informational purposes, education or form opinions from things that numb-nuts on T.V. have to say.
    Do you?

So... I'm not a farmer. But, how much would it cost you to maintain an acre of survival tomatoes? Would you grow these vegetables in your spare time? How long does it take til harvest?
Would it be cheaper to just pay the increased prices at the supermarket?

If you plant your tomatoes in March/April, August is when you can start picking. If the tomatoes are still green, just put them in a brown paper bag on a ledge somewhere, and ripe they become.

  • Ok, the idea of the survival crisis garden is that "if there's a nuclear war or Armageddon or race war, you can plant this."

    Absurd.

But I wasn't making fun of that, I was making fun of the mis-spelling and weird message on the banner ad.
