I think its great to see them playing this a little more live. I was listening to Melbourne #2 2006 this afternoon and found a new appreciation for this song. Great vocals from Ed (well i thort so anyway). Anyone else have special Lowlight memories? I went to Melbourne 1 and 3 that tour. Missed #2 which probably had the most diverse set of the three nights. Great opening - Go, Last Exit, Brain of J...

  • I called my (then girlfriend) fiance, during Low Light from MSG in '03. We are going to have our first dance to it at our wedding next May. She is also thinking about getting a tattoo of 2 sparrows on her wrist for the line "Two birds is what they'll see... getting lost upon their way". I might do the same on my elbow!

Heard it at Wembley last year - it was awesome! When I realised what song it was I thought I was gonna 'burst a stitch'! :D

A great song, it was my favorite off yeild when I first got it. Been lucky enough to see it twice live now.

My favorite Low Light experience was at the second Mansfield show in '03. I think it was the second time they ever played it, and Ed read the lyrics from the Yield liner notes. There's also something special about the version at the first MSG show that year (the DVD show), because Ed kind of struggled through the first part of the show, and it's during Low Light that he really starts to find his voice (at least, it sounds that way to me).

You know, the fact that Low Light sounds so good live makes me think they should break out another Jeff song with similar instrumentation -- Other Side.
*Does not include encore of Garden and Leash.

Love the song...BUT still feel the first line is awkward in the arrangements..."clouds roll by....."...I dunno - just do.

    That's my favorite as well.

I just remember that about 3 weeks before the show someone on the old board posted about a ticketdrop by ticketmaster. About 12 of us all bought tickets in the next 20 minutes or so and all were in row about 15 in front of Mike. And when Ed says "We're going to play something we haven't played in awhile - a song Jeff wrote." We all just looked at each other in the row and said Lowlight - no way - they're actually going to play it.

It was my favorite spontaneous moment of the 03 tour.

I was at the Bridge show when they played it live the first time- I was a pretty new fan at the time, but it was seriously cool to watch people's reactions around me, like they just couldn't believe it.

I thought Jeff was a smidge off-key on the Gorge 05 version, but it was still great.

possibly one of the most underrated pearl jam songs of all time, and probably my fav downtempo PJ song

awesome lyrics, melody and music its a masterpiece

heard it at melbourne 2 2006 was stoked i got to hear it live

also love gorge 2005 version, but i think its stone that sounds slightly off key not jeff (could be wrong though)

one of the most obscure lyrics ive ever heard in PJ songs which to this day i still cant figure out is "can wear my mask, your first my last"

    what is everyones interpretation?
