    Sad, but not terribly surprising.
    Dude was a total mess.
What a waste of what should have been a fairly charmed life.

that's sad, i'd always hoped he'd pull through. i only really knew him through his role in babylon 5 (and later on celeb. rehab once or twice), but he always seemed talented. quite the shame. RIP

It makes me really, really sad that Dr. Drew exploits addicts for television and self promotion. Not saying anything could have saved this guy, but a real doctor agreeing to "treat" patients on a television program is just ignoble.

Yeah, I'm not too fond of him either. To me a stint in rehab should not be televised, whether they are celebrities or otherwise. Those people need to be focusing on getting better, not distracted by cameras and being turned into an attraction.

Come on don't kid yourself they wouldn't be on the show if they wanted to just get clean .....they look at this as an opportunity to also rekick start carriers. ...........Think of it like celebrity apprentice only for the fucked up B list celebs!

True, and that's why I think the show does more harm than good. Just like any reality show, nobody remembers the people who were mild-mannered, and behaved in a sane manner. It's the crazy ones. It's the girl who used a guys toothbrush to clean the toilet without his knowledge, or the guy who screws every girl in the celebrity house, or whatever. And the celebrity rehab show seems to be the same way. If you really want to make a name for yourself, have the news sources talking about your time on the show, you have to be the one to act nuts, climb out your window in the middle of the night and come back fucked up, etc. These celebrities don't think about just getting clean, many of them are trying to figure out how much publicity mileage they can get out of it. Without the cameras around and the TV show format it would be less of an issue.

But at least they're getting some rehab out of it, whether or not it's falling on deaf ears depends on the person I guess. And you're right, many of them probably wouldn't be in any rehab without the incentive of cameras being around.

I didn't even know Jeff had problems like this. I only know him from watching Taxi reruns while growing up. But I loved the show, and this is very sad.

did you know that he had several back surgeries? I heard he had alot of metal in his back. I understand that's when he became an addict, kind of like Elizabeth Taylor. Now his coke problem, that's a different story. I felt sorry for him. I always liked him on Taxi and in Grease.
