Hey guys I''m planning to fly in from Vancouver hoping to take the 3pm flight and get in about 5:15 local time.
What's transit like from the airport to the venue? Will I be cutting it close?

Airport's a little north of city...I don't live there and don't know how much their ring road is helping traffic these days, but would guess a little over an hour at rush hour...you planning to go straight to the venue or check in/drop bags somewhere first?
If you're going direct you shold be fine as long as your flight isn't delayed. If your flight is late or you need to make a stop (and want to be there fairly early) you could be cutting it close...cool, glad you're comin out!

I'll be there - 187xxx...row 7 in 05
Well the flight is only an hour and fifteen, and it's direct. I don't wanna skip class that morning (since i'll be skipping the next 2 days) but i guess i might have to. Just planning on bringing a backpack and I'll prob find someones car to throw my stuff in (drivin back ed->van).
Yea it'll be nice to meet you, a few drinks and a stephen harper bitch fest I feel is necessary teehee
There is a great high speed train that goes from the airport to downtown waterfront. It takes 25 mins to get from airport to downtown. Then you take #14 Hastings bus to venue. Total travel time should be about an hour depending on schedule and timing of buses. There is a web site that you can type in destinations and you get the trip planned for you, closer to the date you get bus times. Google BC Trans Link.

We'll have to see how brave we're feeling with the Harper bashing, this IS Calgary we're talking about here
I wore an Oilers T to the 05 show, and was a little concerned for my safety

Thanks for the info....................... but I meant when I arrive in Calgary
I was like, WTF... Calgary has a Waterfront?!
Anyways, getting from SFU bby to YVR will be a different story, as my plans are to go to class in the morning and transit to YVR by 1ish to get a 3:00 flight. Will be close, maybe I should just skip class that day too :?

Are you just going straight to the venue???
If so you should be fine as you would be heading south on Deerfoot when the majority of the traffic is heading north at rush-hour, however, one accident could stall you up. Yesterday at around 5:30 it took 40 minutes driving to just get south of downtown, and that is unusual at that time.
You should be fine, if you get to the show early take a stroll down 17th Ave and grab a pint.
I guess i'll be by Steph T (unless one of us scores lottery), 440xxx.
Hm....
Either I know you or there are 2 of us...
Probably the latter, but then again I'm bad at screen names.
Hmmm... know from shows or from something else? Not sure where you're from but I am from Minneapolis if that helps. Don't recognize your screen name...
I'll be there with bells on, and with a very beautiful Pearl Jam virgin.

Ya or venue area, was planning on going to the pre-party. It would probably have to be transit I take. Is there a train from the airport or just buses?
Comments
Had row 5 in Calgary on the 2005 tour.

All the shows say that I believe
For example when I purchased my tickets it said GA8 Seats 29-30.
If it was GA I believe they would have specified that as I would want my tickets on the side as that is just my preference.
