Listening to Pearl Jam radio, I finally caught a version of Brain of J not from Yield. I had heard this before Yield was released, but not since. Anyway, it is a complete overhaul of the song. I wonder if anyone knows the reason behind this. FYI, the version I heard today was from Salt Lake City in 1995.

    I have the bootleg from the Salt Lake '95 show. I've listened to that version a few times. "The whole world will be different soon, go to hell if you don't believe it." I actually hope they have a studio version of it and that they include it with the Yield re-release. I might be able to email it to you if you want to give me your address.

    There was stuff on the 95 tour that was not released yet that was played Lukin, I Got Shit. Same with the 94 tour with alot of Vitalogy stuff played before it was released. They are or were that kind of band that just played what they liked.

    I caught this version too - I had no idea it was written pre-Yield. I thought it was a mistake when it said Brain of J, 1995.

    oh hell yes!!! Not only is it a complete rock-jaw of a song but its a great way to start the album. Yield is definitely one of my favorites!!! :D
