PJ to play Wrigley?

First-time poster, longtime PJ fan here. Anyway, I am intrigued by when the tour ends: June 30th. If that's the 'end', the band has to make its way west somehow. The Wrigley Field concert has not been announced yet, which was 4th of July weekend last year (The Police played two shows). I checked the schedule, and the Cubs will be out of town from July 1-6. Given Eddie's love of the Cubs and the band's performance and draw at Lollapooloza, I think PJ playing Wrigley is a strong possibility.

I don't think there will be a concert at Wrigley this year per the agreement with the neighborhood, but I could be mistaken.
There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.

Hmmm, I guess you can never say never, but if I recall one of the mods or Rubysdad stated that there would be no more dates for the year.

Good luck though - I hope I am wrong!!!

logistically speaking, I'd prefer the United Center, but would be VERY happy if they played any additional midwest shows.

I strongly doubt it but would be there in a second.

I joked about Wrigley last week, but I highly doubt it.
Soldier Field would be nice, but the stadium layout is really strange, not sure how it'd work out.

Unfortunately, United Center would probably be the only venue they'd play in Chicago, even though the sound is terrible.
  • why not play alpine valley instead

They just reworked the field this offseason and the Police shows did some damage last year. I know that they have less night games to make room for 2 concerts so there definately could have a concert this year. They also could have those night games reserved for ESPN Sunday night baseball also.

It would be pretty cool to see them there.

BTW Rubysdad had said things could obviosly change but as of now there are no other shows. I bet they play more shows but who knows.

Two things I love the most.... (besides family)!!

    Pearl Jam and the CUBS!!!
It would be sweet but I agree with the above post... they just spent $2M on a new field so I don't think we will see it this year.

I do think we will see a Chicago show in July/Aug (Alpine as well).....

I never said anything about NOT playing Alpine.
