Do any songs place you in a certain setting?

LBC reminds me of watching everyone file into the Garden, and get ready to watch the show. Don't know why, I can imagine it playing in my head while watching people walk into the arena.

Absolutely, all through my life. :)
"I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."

I love it when you associate a song with a memory. I believe LBC plays during the opening credits to Live at the Garden, but I can't remember if it shows people walking into the arena. Maybe it unconsciously stuck in your head.

For me, whenever I hear Not For You I think of a grocery store that I worked at in high school. The day after Vitalogy came out, a couple of us were talking about the album at work and we thought that was the best song on the album and how great/ironic it would be if we could convince the manager to put it on the song list that the store played over and over again.

    um..that would be SUB-consciously. :D:D
  • I don't know why, but when I listen to Light Years, it always makes me think of this lady I know, were just driving in her car......I like that! :)
It is weird how certain songs can do that to you. (same with smells I find!)

"All Those Yesterdays" was blaring in my car as I was leaving college for the last time and embarking into the real world. Whenever I hear it I can vividly remember driving my beat up GMC Jimmy out of West Lafayette, packed full of crap with the windows down, a big smile on my face, and never looking back.

So I guess my answers is "yes". ;)
  • Indifference puts me in a certain place. It's like a safe cover of darkness comes over me and I can just be there without anyone or anything coming into my sphere of divine darkness.

    :)
A child's rhyme stuck in my head...
It said "Life is nothing but a dream."
I've spent so many years in question
To find I'd known this all along.

  • Tremor Christ reminds me of buying Vitalogy on Vinyl a week before the cd release. On the same trip to the store I bought some insense and some pot from a local mall rat, went home dusted off my ma's old record player and listened to that song over and over and over while playing SEGA genisis.

  • I was in Europe for a trip during college when Binaural was released. I was so excited that I got to buy it in Florence as an import AND that it was released a day earlier than in the US. When I hear songs from Binaural, I think of listening to it for the first time (and many more times to follow) sitting on a train going through the Alps.

State of Love and Trust always puts me in the summer, in the car, with the windows down. One summer I just kept playing that song over and over again. So now whenever I hear the studio version I can smell/feel the summer air.
    32 shows and counting...
