My Uncle gave me something cool tonight.

I went to Jersey tonight, and my Uncle handed me Vs. and Vitalogy the original CD's he bought back in 93 and 94. I mean nothing SPECTACULAR. But it's cool, to have ya know? Im sure everyone still has theirs.

    Very cool. My uncle gave me a bunch of comic books once and Thriller on vinyl. Your uncle sounds cooler than mine.

    You know i've had every Pearl Jam CD since approx the day they were released and never replaced a single one of them....and i played the shit out of these things!

    i had to replace ten once. i guess i was kinda young when i first got it and i scratched the shit out of it.

    Is it the eco-pak pressing of Vs? Those are pretty cool. They went OOP rather quickly I think, but they're not terribly hard to find.
    I am lost, I'm no guide. But I'm by your side...

    I saw the eco pak Vs in Vegas 2 days ago at a record store. Didn't pick it up cause I have my regular one I bought back in 93. Nothing's changed on the CD's in the last 15 years though. The new ones still look exactly like they did 15 yrs ago. Never had a reason to re-buy them.

    There are a couple of different pressings of Vs that have noticable differences. The Vs being made now has the title on the spine, whereas the early ones did not. I have a jewel case with and without the title.

    The eco pak is what was released first in a rather limited pressing. I bought Vs the day it came out and that's the version I got. Other than the cool case design, its should be noted that there are no song titles printed on the back of the eco-pak.

    As one of those "obsessive" collectors I guess stuff like that matters to me... :)

    Damn, makes me wish I had picked it up. It was used so not really appealing to me. But since you can't get them new, I'll keep my eyes open for it in the future.

    you are correct.

    plus the original cassettes still had the title "five against one" printed on them. there are quite a few differences in the various pressings of Vs
