    Hey I'm a broke-ass student and I work for a living, just only for 3 months every summer, hence the being broke thing. But you're right I don't have to give much notice to take time off, so the tour news I can wait on....but come on, I don't need anything major about the album like a release date or anything, but just some mention about something would be nice, like a "oh we're really excited about the new stuff we're working on..."

    The new album will most likely be released in late 2009.

    Ten is being Re-Released, and so as a business they (record label, manager, band?, promoters, etc.) probably wouldn't want to market the new Ten release along with a new album at the same time. They need to make a ton of money off the new Ten album. Then when that has settled down a bit, they will possibly release the new album and generate even more money.

    They will release the album suddenly without anyone knowing they have completed it. It will be a complete and utter surprise.

    Nope, the Ten re-release would be a Sony venture, but a new PJ album would be on their own label again just like Pearl Jam was. The 2 events are completely unrelated to each other save for the fact that 80% of the musicians appear on both.

    Not so much as news, but a little tidbit.......

    The Edge radio station is a huge promoter of Billy Talent (Canadian Content). They were discussing how Billy Talent is now recording their new album with Brendan O'Brien as a producer. THey said it will be all wrapped up by Christmas, because early in the new year, Brendan will finishing Pearl Jam's new album.

    haha charade you all are..

    I thought bands started promotions and such at least a good 3-4 months before the album drops.. but if i remember correctly pearl jam doesn't always roll that way.

    Im feeling that they have given us plenty of info, just not the kind people are psyched for: Jeff and others in interviews has indicated clearly that the new album wont be recorded until Spring; there are indicators everywhere that Ten could be re-released anyday now. No touring until late Spring or summer 09. That sounds like news to me! So, dig deep and find some patience boys and girls- or actually listen to other bands for awhile...

    Pearl Jam (album) was also a sony release...just on J instead of epic.

    as for the new album...it'll still be awhile. they haven't even started recording, just jammed on ideas a few times. sadly...

    nice to know! yeah i'm figuring we'll get something around may and then a summer or fall tour. which is fine by me...gives me more time to gather my pennies!

    My local rock radio station (in Boston) keeps reporting that Pearl Jam has at least 5 or 6 new songs recorded and that the new record will come out in early 2009.

    Also, I heard that Ten is being re-released on March 23 as a double CD, on Vinyl and as a DVD.
