if so...how is their show? i consider myself nothing more than a casual fan at best. i have a couple of their albums, which i like okay, but i never listen to them. i will be in philadelphia for the roots picnic in a couple weeks and it looks like they are playing at the trocadero the night before. thinking about getting tickets. not really a fan of the venue though, so unless i get some strong recommendations, i might just hit up the lebowski fest instead.

Saw them at a festival. It was your standard live act. Got up there, played their songs, told a quick story between tunings, and that was it.

  • Seen them twice, good live band. Go and see them if you have a chance.

Saw them open up for Arcade Fire a few weeks ago. I had never heard of Okkervil River before and they didn't really impress me. There were a few songs I thought were okay, but overall it was meh (for me). I do have a friend that likes them though and thinks they are amazing live. If you're even just a casual fan it may be worht it if its not too expensive.

Just saw 'em last night. Good show, very solid on stage. I left during the encore though because it was nearing 1:30 am.

Aren't they touring with Titus Andronicus?

if so, you should definitely go
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”
