    Whoa, what happened? Sorry, I think I was possessed by Satan for a second. I am quite surprised that the U.S. ruled in favor of these grotesque lunatics with respect to free speech. But, if that is what the constitution states, then so be it.

    As much as I hate what they say, I agree with the ruling. Free speech shouldn't be 'free speech BUT', because frankly, I don't trust anyone in government to judge what I'm allowed to to say or hear.

    The Westboro Baptist Church knows what works... outrage.
    In order to get their message out, then need publicity. But, they aren't rich, so they get free publicity by being outrageous. It worked for the likes of Jesse Jackson, Gloria Allred and Al Sharpton... why not do the same?
    WBC has always carried the same, 'God Hates Fags' message. As long as they only went after the gay community, America didn't give a shit. Then, they changed their strategy and went after some thing Americans cared about... our troops. It was perfect for them... especially with all of the cheerleading during the 2002 Iraq War.
    Americans still don't give a crap about the gay community... it's the protest of the soldiers that matters. America (in general) still agrees with Rev. Phelps and his message about homosexuality... it's the protest at the funerals that pisses off Americans.

    Now... the best way to deal with them? You will never be able to reason with them... shouting at them doesn't do anything except disrupt the funeral service.
    Follow the Foo Fighters... use humor.
    Make up signs that say shit like, 'MAN ASS: You know you want it' and 'God Loves You... Even Though He Thinks You're An Asshole' and stand in their ranks and have the media take your picture with them. Use their tactics against them. They stand on public property and use the First Amendment as a shield. Well, it works both ways. I can stand on the same public property and peacably hold up my signs, exercising MY First Amemdment rights. If they lay a finger on me... spi on me... I can call the cops and have them arrested for assault. The same tactics they use... I can use AGAINST THEM!!!
    They are media whores... I say, STEAL THEIR CAMERA TIME... just like the FOO FIGHTERS did!!!
