I have long curly hair as well. This is what I recommend

Cheap: Tressemme curly formula $5-$6 for BIG bottles of shampoo and conditioner
A bit more expensive: Frizz Ease by John Frieda- for curly hair $7-$8 for smallish bottles
Fancy: Aveda - Be Curly shampoo and condition ... I think about $20 for smallish bottle

Whatever you choose I recommend finishing with some sort of frizz reducing curl enhancing product. Frizz Ease has a very nice one. Spray it in your hair and then use a wide tooth comb to comb your hair. Trust me. Who cares is you sound like a girl. Your hair will look amazing. Feel free to pm me for more tips.:lol:

Fekkai Glossing Cream-find it at Target, Fred Meyer, Rite Aid (Freddy's sells it for $20 and Target sells it for $25)
costs $20-25 for the tube, but you only need to use a pea sized amount, so it will last you a long time.
My hair is pretty fried and frizzy from the foil and color, but when I put this stuff in, my hair is all nice and smooth.

I have the same hair type. It's a pain in the ass.

First I use shampoo (any kind) mostly on my roots, then I slather conditioner on from the ends up. Most anything really moisturizing or designed for curly hair works for me, it's just trial and error. I keep a brush in the shower and brush through my hair as the condition soaks in. This is really the trick; it gets all of the tangles out. Then I usually buy kids' detangling spray to use in my hair after the shower to fix any further tangles. I finish by scrunching in a little curly hair cream or gel cream.
Using up my Ovaltine... like Ovaltine.

I got sick of my long wavy wild hair so I shaved it hehe
Now the bottles of shampoo and conditioner last longer.

  • I use American Crew, it's good shit. Big 1 litre bottles for like 26 bucks each, but they last all year. I don't pay that though cuz my wife works at a salon, so she gets it at supplier cost. Best shampoo and conditioner I've ever used!

  • I think in your men's Hygene thread I told you about the horse shampoo and conditioner.. it works really super well, and they even have one for the Bashkir Curley, WHICH I might add is the ONLY NATURALLY curly-haired horse breed in the world!! ( however at the moment I cannot remember the brand name that makes the Bahskir products). But Arrow makes Mane N'Tail shampoos and Conditioners that are awesome on human hair just don't buy it from Wal-mart or any human store because they grade down the PH in it which is the key to the whole thing working. Good Luck with you hair dude!!

The best shampoo I've ever used is Infusium. Seriously, that conditioner...after I get out of the shower, no knots and as little frizz as possible. I have never had to deal with knotty hair using Infusium, and I don't comb it with the conditioner on. Never brush it...and I wouldn't comb in the shower anyhow, you'll wind up losing even more hair. Also Herbal Essences has an awesome Mousse that's pretty flexible, not hard, called Totally twisted.

Actually I used the Infusium 23 leave in as well. I love their products!

    I'm not so sure Mickey...

what girl woud say "I finally started combing my hair out the other month"

or what girl would say "still...(my hair) is bitchin"

and I'm pretty sure that most girls when asking for hair advice do not pose their questions like..."anyone know of a badass shampoo/conditioner?"

Yeah. its evident that that Chadwick dude is a ..dude.

"You use _____ on your hair????
You might as well use dish soap!"

....how many times have you heard that from a stylist trying to sell you $40 shampoo?

Use Outrageous so that when you start sweating, everyone within a 10 mile radius can smell you coming. man that stuff is STRONG.

My hair is short, so all I need is something decent that doesn't dry my scalp...Pantene does the trick for me.
