The earth shifts
my walk
enters a stumble
my feet
dance with the cracks
black holes staring back
......................yes, I know
..........................I brought this on myself
I got heavy.
Swallowed my tongue
while running from my voice
my choice
I thought it tasted beautiful
...............................till I fell
down.
Hit a ground that held hope like it was solid
mans vision of a cleaner world
without the kind of dirt
life grows from
...............can I grow from
this?
Can I accept that
or expect that
to perfect that better place to be
..................................Is to breathe
...........................................in this one?
To overcome
lullabies sung
by a faith
jarred
for a rainy day
that would only ever save
..........................someone else.

I just need to breathe
a breath
I can believe in
Take a step
I can stand in
