very pumped about seeing them this wednesday. unfortunately we are behind the stage (sec 218) so I hope this view isn't as limited as i'm thinking. Next monday we have GA. I need to hear bad at one of these shows!!!
Was at the Wednesday show and loved it. They are always great live.
The whole set up is just amazing and well done. The sound system is probably the best I ever heard. VERY loud but it's very crisp and not a sounding on your ears as others at such a high volume.
Watching the set lists from afar I was a little skeptical. That being said the way the narrative of the show goes works perfect. I would have been ok with 2 less new songs though.
Desire and Angel with Fallon and the Roots was amazing. Other highlights were Until the End of the World and the very underrated City of Blinding Lights. Streets is probably the best live song ever.
The opening punch of Miracle, Out of Control, Vertigo and I Will Follow was great too.
^^^ it amazes me, also, that city of blinding lights doesn't get the respect it deserves. imo it's one of their greatest "new" songs. every time they do it it's a magical performance+ my mistake this tour was convincing myself that only 2 shows was enough. the whole cd/tour is stellar. iris took on a whole new meaning after bono introduced it to us...and i can't even remember the last time i saw bad. WOW
speaking of the shows, who wants to sell me their GA ticket for thursday's show? =D anybody? well just thought it was worth a shot. saw them on sunday and got so close to them it was AMAZING!!!
That seems to be one hell of a party! U2 fansite @U2 (atU2) turned 20 years old this year. Last night they had a party in New York, with U2 tribute band Unforgettable Fire as special guests. Well, it seems some other special guests arrived too, as both The Edge and Adam Clayton paid a visit to the party. Together with Unforgettable Fire they played Where The Streets Have No Name and Out Of Control. Amazing how they care about their fans.
Caught the MSG show last Friday, which was great (Springsteen joined them for Still Havent Found What I'm Looking For, as mentioned above). The stage show is really amazing. One of the better shows ive seen (best tours Ive seen: Unforgettable Fire, Joshua Tree and Zoo TV tours).
Anyone hear anything about where legs 3 and 4 might be?
Leg 2 ends the European run on November 15th. I'm guessing 3 will be in South America, but wondering if they try an outdoor thing back in North America for Leg 4 next summer. Not sure the current stage setup fits outdoors, but they always seem to surprise us.
