    Yeah...given that we LET those guys grab a whole stack of our civil liberties without even putting up the tiniest fight, it should come as no surprise to anyone that they would be monumentally disinclined to give even one of them back.

    Fewer civil liberties for us = more power and control for them. I mean, this is not frakkin' rocket science.

    How so many Americans completely missed the probable long term effects of that ghastly piece of legislation is really beyond me. But there it is. And unfortunately, it is SO ghastly that even the ability to say "I told you so" does not make me feel even the slightest bit better.

    hmmm, good question. I'm pretty sure if he didn't want this, it would not happen, we know he has supported the Patriot Act by voting for it. (in 2008)
