This seems to happen everywhere, but you wouldn't think here...and the comments shocked me (and were apparently subsequently shut down).

WOW, the comments were uncalled for. Yes, she was being rude, but I am sure we have come across all kinds of people who think that they are the only ones who matter when they are on their phone. It's doesn't matter where you are, or who you are, other people don't want to hear your cell conversations FULL VOLUME.

Learn some cell phone etiquette and use it.

    ^^ yeah.
And what got me is that, with signs everywhere, and it is a known fact that it is a quiet car, she still gets belligerent when someone says something to her after HOURS of it. The audacity of some people is just appalling. It just seems to be a false sense of entitlement; I don't get it.

Waitress: Could you please keep your voices down--this is a family restaurant.

Walter Sobchak: Oh, please dear! I've got news for you: the Supreme Court has roundly rejected prior restraint!

The Dude: Walter, this isn't a First Amendment thing.

Waitress: Sir, if you don't calm down I'm going to have to ask you to leave.

Walter Sobchak: Lady, I got buddies who died face-down in the muck so you and I could enjoy this family restaurant!

The Dude: All right, I'm leaving. I'm sorry ma'am.

Walter Sobchak: Don't run away from this, Dude! Goddamnit, this affects all of us!... Our basic freedoms!... I'm staying. Finishing my coffee... I'm Finishing my coffee.

"I don't want to talk about those things. I see the worst in people. I don't need to look past seeing them to get all I need. I've built my hatreds up over the years, little by little, Henry... to have you here gives me a second breath. I can't keep doing this on my own with these... people. "
