I don't know what to do to get to MSG.. should I take the X1 X-press bus fro the Eltingville Transit Center, or just go take the ferry and just take the 1 train to 34th st Penn station?

I think either would be fine. If the bus goes to Port Authority, you can take the A/C/E down one stop to 34th street. Either way, you should see how late they both run so you can get home.

The 1 from South Ferry could not be any easier...When you get up to the 1st Express stop (I think it is Chambers), jump over to the 2/3 Express to Penn Station...will save you about 7 minutes or so...
