If we could get 30-40 people together, I wouldn't mind doing the all day rental, so we could do some we could bring some coolers and chairs for the lot. If we can't get the numbers or people don't want to pay that much we could do the other too. It doesn't matter that much to me.

Thanks for doing the legwork. At least we have somewhere to start now. It's still cheaper than the shuttles, if we get the right amount of people. Especially the pickup and dropoff only.
He was saying that parking for a bus was changed to 100 bucks.. but divided between everyone.. its really not much.

Oh and rates dont change for the different types of buses.

That's really not bad. $800 (with $100 parking charge) and 40 people, and you're looking at $20 a person. Plus we could all shove some coolers and grilles in there too.

I just posted on Craigslist in Madison & Milwaukee looking for a shuttle/ bus driver. There is a whole section devoted to transportation jobs needed/wanted....

This would be a great fundraiser for a church that has a bus?

I'll let you know what kind of bids I get from these ads...

I'm thinking the best way to do this is one trip in and out each day... Then we can park, tailgate and gather after to go back to campground ...?

Count me in if there's a shuttle, I'm coming from Philly alone, not sure if I'm driving or flying butnthis definitely looks like the cheapest place to stay, and I'm all about saving money at this point, hopefully I'll get tix next week.

Great Idea on the fundraiser part!! I think the one trip thing would be a good idea, but I know I would like to attend the pre-party fundraiser at some point, so hopefully that will be in the parking lot or something!!!

It also might be tough after the show to make sure everyone is on......I'm not saying I am going to get wasted, but making sure everyone is on when a little Buzzed might be tough!!!!

Mother's Against Drunk Drivers? That would be a good one for a fundraising angle. Taking drunks off the road and drunks donating to their anti drunk driving cause!

Yeah, it may be a bit of a problem making sure that we have everyone back on the bus, but honestly it's no different then any other shuttle arrangment will be. If you aren't responsible enough to show up, sucks for you.
I think if we set up a longer time bracket for a leaving time that will help. To be honest, I'd much rather chill out in the parking lot and crack open some more beer while everyone else attempts to rush out all at once anyway. It's going to take a long time regardless, might as well chill relax. If they let us drink in the bus or shuttle though I could give a shit less. LOL

I also think it would be a good idea for the shuttle to hang around for a while after the show. There are more advantages to this than disadvantages.
    A. I've been to Alpine many times and it can take up to 2 hours to get out of the lot if you try leaving right away. Never been on bus or RV though, so don't know if it's a different lot or not.
    B. It's always a great time drinking for an hour or so in the lot after the show, talking about the show and hanging out with fellow fans.
    C. Hopefully it will give everyone enough time to make it back to the bus, so nobody's stranded.

Can't wait, this is going to be a great time.

We all agree, if Wong and I can come up with a Bus, we will allow plenty of time for people to get back to the bus. We would not be in a rush and let the place clear out before leaving.

I'm heading out from Massachusetts - possibly via Long Island - so psyched for road trip - bet we all meet up at truck stops & the like along the way. After PA it's all quite flat~

Found a really cool guy that has a 71 capacity school bus that would allow us to tailgate/party etc... He freelances this, and will underbid most charter companies. He quoted me $600 per day plus parking, ehich I believe is $100 more. We are looking at $700 per day total. Can someone do a head count so far and see how this will work financially? I will have 6 in my group including Totto...

Plus let's see how Monday goes!!

I just booked this place as well. It will be 2 of us coming from Ohio...We would both definitely be down for money on a shuttle/bus.

Would also prefer to have it so we could tailgate in the parking lot at Alpine Valley for as long as needed.
